Niall's POV

I've felt this before but it was not this bad.

The first time I thought she was dead I thought I was going to lose my mind. Now I think I may just die myself.

I haven't slept in two weeks. I can't sleep. Every time I close my eyes all I see is her lying there on that hospital bed with blood everywhere.

Doctors have finally stabilized her they say, but she's already been in one coma this year an now she's slipped into another one.

First cause she had a mental breakdown and just passed out. Now it's happened because of so much blood loss. She was so close to being dead. I almost lost her.

"Niall." Harry pats my shoulder.

"The baby's healthy and strong." The doctor says.

"Can I see her?" I ask quietly.

He nods.

Lenzie McKenna Horan.

I am the first parent to hold you. I am the first one to see you.

Her mouth opens and closes and her hands grip onto the fabric of my shirt.

It's beautiful. This feeling.

To hold your child for the first time is one of the most amazing feelings in the world.

A feeling of pure joy envelops me but there are some patches missing. Because I don't know for sure if her mother will get to see her.

And no sooner after I say that, I hear the flatline.

I give Lenzie to nurse as gently and as quickly as I can.

Harry meets me outside in the hall and we both run to Lana's room.

"1...2...3...clear."

Her chest jolts up but the flatline still remains.

The nurses and doctors scream things back and forth but I don't hear a thing.

The only thing I hear through this loud silence is the constant beep of her flatline.
