Love

Today was my wedding day.

I stand in front of the window and look out at my backyard. Nat stands at the alter talking to a news interviewer. The whole ceremony was going to be filmed live.

We've only had a record deal for a month and we already have a lot of fans. A group of them were crowded around the front my house screaming to get in and get a glimpse of me.

"You look beautiful."

I turn and gasp when I hear and unexpected voice come from behind me.

The man that stands before has made a complete change. He's lost so much weight and looks as if he's aged by twenty years.

"Dad?"

He nods slowly. My chest tightens at the sight of him. This man tried to kill me years ago. This man that called himself my father.

"What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to see you on your wedding day. Had to beg the guards until your friend Tanner finally told them to take me here. I only have five minutes." He doesn't look me in the eye.

"I'll tell him you said thank you."

"I'm sorry for everything. I know I'm the reason you changed your identity and ran away from your boyfriend. Where is he by the way? What was his name? Niall." He scratches the back of his neck awkwardly. "I want to tell apologize to him too and thank him for taking care of you."

A lump forms in m throat. "I don't know. I'm not marrying him."

He finally looks me in the eyes, searching over my face for answers. "What?"

"That night when I ran away, Tanner made it look like I faked my death. They all thought I was dead until I told Niall the truth. I didn't want to hurt him anymore. I ran away from him and eventually changed my identity but he soon found out about that too. He's changed a lot since then." My voice begins to crack at the thought of him.

"I'm so sorry Mcknenzie." He starts toward me with outstretched arms.

"Don't touch me!" I snap.

He takes a step away from me and frowns. "I'm sorry."

I turn away from him and face the window again. "Leave. It's my wedding day. I'm supposed to have good memories. Not bad ones."

He sighs loudly. "It could turn into bad memories if you marry the wrong guy. I know you and Niall really loved each other. I could it in your eyes when you looked at each other. You shouldn't have left him."

I look at him over my shoulder. "He was a good memory of your past. You shouldn't let those slip away so easily." He then leaves the room quietly.

Niall's deal pops into my mind. Is my past really that bad? Would my career end if the media finds out?

I look back out the window. Jesse stands outside in his black tux and his black vans. He refused to wear a tie because he doesn't know how to put one on.

Nat picked out my dress of course. And everything else. She planned the entire thing. From the dress to the guest list. Every last detail, she has handled it all.

"Lana!" Louis yells.

"In here!" he opens the door and drops whatever he was holding in his hand. He stares at me open mouthed.

I laugh softly. "You dropped something."

"Uh sorry." He bends down and pick up the plastic case from the floor.

"You look amazing." He says in awe.

"Thanks Lou. Where's Harry?"

"He's in the kitchen with Niall." He says quietly.
