"Honey you look gorgeous".Mrs.Collins hugged her."My brother would be blown away by your beauty".Roseanne chuckled.Melanie blushed and stared at herself in the mirror.
She was wearing a short pink floral dress with a large white belt around her waist.Her hairs were curled."Thank you".She whispered."Hurry up!".Roseanne grabbed her arm,steading her up."They are waiting".
Today was the day she had been waiting.It wasn't the wedding but she was still excited.As they stepped in the garden,Melanie was blinded by the sharp lights.She squinted her eyes to adjust to it.
Once she did,She looked around in awe.It was really beautiful with all the pink and white ribbons.There many tables around with champagnes and food.
She was told that Lucas had chosen his mother's garden as the place where the party will be held.It was big enough for everyone that was invited.
She walked,Roseanne by her side on the stone pathway where the large stage had been set.She noticed there were two seats,one of which Lucas was already seated.She couldn't see him clearly.
As they got closer her eyes fell on him.He looked handsome as always.His hair were sleaked backwards and he was wearing the dark blue suit.He was talking to his mother but when his gaze met her,he froze.
Melanie felt her cheeks heat up as he eyed her from head to toe.He looked away when his mother called him.His mother whispered something to him at which he nodded and stood up.
Melanie's breathe hitched when he got of the stage and made his way towards her.Roseanne nudged her playfully and stepped aside.Lucas awkwardly held out his hand."Is this really real?".She internally squealed.
"Melanie?".He asked,frowningwhen she stood there frozen.It brought her back to reality and she felt embarassed."Sorry".She mumbled before taking his hand.He moved beside her and led her up the stage.
"Sit down both of you".Said Mr.Williams."Take lots and lots of pictures".He told the photographer which they had personally hired for this special day.
Melanie gave a wide smile when she noticed her cousin Nick also holding his camera.He had decided to drop by since it may be the last they see each other."You look Lovely".He mouthed."Thank you".She replied.
"Shall we begin?".Mrs.Collins asked at which Lucas and Melanie nodded."Bring the rings".She told her daughter Lizzy who disappeared before giving Melanie a glare.
Soon she returned holding two velvet boxes.Lucas opened it to reveal a sparkiling diamond ring."Its beautiful".She whispered.
She came back to reality when she felt a cold metal being slid around her finger.Loud noises of applauses and cheers filled the air."Congratualtions to both of you!".
Melanie smiled at everyone while Lucas kept a straight face."Now lets enjoy the party everyone!".Sebastian,roseanne's husband shouted and opened a champagne bottle,spraying it around.
Melanie let out a chuckle at the scene.It was her first time to be at a party.She had heard about how fun they are from her neighbours and cousins but never got to witness it.
She felt eyes on her so she turned to see Lucas staring at her emotionless and then he sighed,looking away."Did I do something wrong?".
He let go of her and got off to join the others.She pursed her lips and sat down."Lets dance!".Roseanne grabbed her brother to the dance floor.Melanie watched them feeling sad and happy at the same time.
She wanted to dance too but unfortunetly she couldn't.
