"Go away!".Melanie shouted when a knock was heard at her door."Master Lucas is waiting for you at the table".One of the maid said from outside."Tell him I am not hungry!".She wiped her tears but more flowed down.

His words from last night were still stinging her mind."I will never love someone like you".

What did he mean by someone like her? Except for losing her ability to walk, there was nothing wrong with her.She was a human like everyone else.On top of that,it's not her fault for becoming crippled. She never wanted this to happen.

If she could, she would want to walk again as well. Her doctor had said there was a chance she could walk again but her Uncle couldn't afford it.She told him it was okay but it isn't.

She hugged her knees tighter as she sobbed silently.Mr and Mrs.Williams had left in the morning for a important party.Leaving him and her alone and ofcourse the maids.Lucas's presence made her feel mad at him.

She decided to avoid Lucas as much as possible. But could she?

Another knock at her door made groan in annoyance."I said leave me al-".Her words died at the sight of the figure standing at her doorway. She clenched her fists and looked away."Please leave".

She didn't want him to see her cry or he would feel smug that his words got to her which actually did but he doesn't need to know that.

Lucas sighed, running a hand through his hair."The food is getting cold".He spoke, irritation lacing his voice.

"I said I made myself clear that I am  not hungry".She said trying to sound angry. He should know what he said was wrong and she was mad about it.

"Listen".Lucas stepped inside standing a few meters away from her."I don't care you starve but mother told me to make sure you eat so either you come on your own or I will drag you there".

She finally looked at him,her face turned into a scrowl. She noticed Lucas taking in her state.Eyes blood shot from crying too long and her nose turned red.

She could have sworn she saw something flicker in his eyes.Guilt? She shrugged her thoughts away.He would never feel guilt for someone especially her.

"I will make sure mother doesn't know about it so just go!".She spat. His jaw tightened and his fists clenched.

"Melanie".

"Lucas".

They both stared at each other.Neither willing to look away."I am only gonna tell you last time".He said through gritted teeth."Get up".

"No".

In a second he was by her bed."Wh..what are you doing?".She tried to move away but he had already caught her arm. With one pull,he had wrapped his arms around her waist. His other arm went under her knees pulling her up.

"Put me down!".She shrieked."I warned you".Lucas shrugged. He carried her towards the table and placed her down on a seat."Eat".He ordered as he went to sit down as well.

"No".She crossed her arms over her chest.Frustrated,he ran a hand over his face."Believe me when I say that I will shove the food down your throat if you don't eat it on your own".

Melanie looked at the food infront of her and pursed her lips. She did believed he could do that. Her stomach growled but thankfully it wasn't loud or Lucas would have heard it and that would have been embarassing.

"Fine".She muttered and picked up her spoon. She could feel his eyes on him but tried mot to make eye contact.

Lucas smirked at the thought she was intimidated by his threat.
