"How about this one?".Roseanne asked,holding a beige coloured dress.It had a side slit and the neckline was way deep.
"No way".Melanie rejected with the shake of her head.
"Then this one?".She showed a black dress which happened to be too short.
Melanie let out a sigh.She had been sighing since morning when she heard there was going to be a business gathering held at the Williams' estate.Apparently all of Williams' business partners were attending and a new project was to be announced.She didn't know the details as she wasn't told.
She tried the best she could to decline joining this gathering but being the fiancee of next heir,she was bound to come.She was woken up rather urgently and the next thing she knew,she was in a dress shop.Everything screamed 'expensive' about the place and she was finding it hard to find a decent dress.They were all made for gorgeous women who had perfect figure and curves.She was far from such women so every dress Roseanne would pick out,she was immediately decline.
"Darling,you have to try a little sexy.Otherwise,you won't be able to keep Lucas's eyes on you".
Melanie blushed."I..I don't want to-".
"Shush".She turned back to skimming through the dresses."If it ain't a jaw dropping dress,we are not getting it".Suddenly she gasped and spun,holding a ruby red dress.It was till knees in the front and till ankles at the back.It was practically off shoulder with barely visible straps to hold the dress.There were gleaming jewels on the neckline making Melanie immediately fall in love with it.
"We are so getting it.Try it-".She was cut off when her phone began to ring."Give me a sec".She thrust tge dress in Melanie's arm,who was sitting,and dashed out the door.
Melanie traced a finger along the jewel and loved the feeling.It was the prettiest dress she had ever seen.She turned it around and held the price tag only to gawk.

She let the tag go as if it burned her.It was too expensive and she wasn't going to be greedy.

Lucas' s comment burned a hole in her head making her place the dress back.She hung it and ran a hand over the silky material with a sigh."Maybe someday".
She retracted her hand and stepped back just as a hand reached forward and took out the same dress.Startled at the action,she spun around and froze.There stood her so called fiance,examining the dress.
"What are you doing here?".
He ignored her question."Aren't you buying it?".
"No".She snatched it and put it back.
Lucas raised his eyebrow."Why not? I saw you admiring it which means you obviously like it".
"Well we don't always get what we won't".Melanie clutched her crutches tightly and looked around."Where is Roseanne?".
"I sent her away".He shrugged.
"Why?".Her face twisted into confusion.
"Sebastian was killing my phone with calls".He lazily looked at the dresses.
"Oh...".
"So to my first question,why aren't you getting the red dress?".
She huffed in annoyance."Look at the price tag.According to someone,I need to stop being a good digger".She began to walk away when a hand wrapped around her wrist.
"We are getting it".Lucas pulled out the dress and headed towards the cashier,dragging Melanie along with him.
"Wait what? I just told you it is expensive!".She hissed,trying to break free from his tight grip.
