"Honey,you should eat something before you go".Mrs.Williams insisted.
"Mom I am not that hungry".Said Lucas but sighed once he saw his mother's expression."I'll make sure to eat something once I get there.Okay?".He reached down to plant a kiss on her cheek.
"Alright".His mother was still unconvinced but nodded,nonetheless."Call me soon".She added.
"I will".He smiled and looked around."Where is Melanie?".His own words surprised him.Why was he worried about her? He wasn't suppose to have any feelings so why? But worrying about someone doesn't mean you like them or something...right?
"She is in her room".Mrs Williams bit back a smile."You should go check on her before you go".He rolled his eyes at his mother before nodding."I will".
He reached Melanie's room and raised his fist,wanting to knock but couldn't."What am I going to say to her? That I was worried about her so I came to check?".
A sigh escaped his lips as he lowered his hand.
"I can't do this".He shook his head and turned around.He had taken a step forward when he heard a sound of someone wincing in pain.
He bursted the door open to see her sitting on the floor,holding her knee."Are you okay?".He crossed the room in long strides and crouched next to her.
"I am fine".She offered him a smile."I had just taken a shower and I guess some water drops might have fallen on the ground which caused me to slip".She rubbed her knee.
He then noticed that her hair were still wet as water dripped on her shoulders but she still managed to look beautiful.
"You should have asked the maids for help".Lucas clicked his tongue."I am going to fire them".He muttered.
"You are not doing such thing".She grabbed his arm."It was my fault so there is no need to blame the poor maids and I have told you that I am fine".
Lucas sighed,picking her up by her waist and making her sit on the bed."You should dry them or you'll get a cold".He said before disappearing and returning with a towel.
"Thank you".She held her hand out for the towel but he moved it out of her reach and began drying her hair for her.Melanie chuckled at him but sat motionless as he dragged the cloth across her head.
"All done".Lucas glanced at his watch and cursed."I have to go or I'll be late".He gave her a quick sidehug."Alright".She replied feeling a little disappointed that he had to leave.
Her phone ringing snapped her back through reality.She reached over to the nighstand and picked her phone.She stared at the caller ID and sighed.
Dr.Frank
"Hello?".
"Melanie! Finally you decided to pick up your call".
"I am sorry".She sat up."I wasn't in the mood of talking".
"It's alright.I understand".
"What were you calling for?".
"Well,you may have forgot but your appointment is this tuesday and I hope to see you there".
"Right the appoinment".
"I'll see what I can do".
"It is not something you can skip.This may cause a big change in your life.You might walk again.Don't you want that?".
"I do.It's just that,I don't want to ask money from them.I already feel obliged".
"You should still ask them.I am sure they will understand".
Melanie sighed."Okay.I will".
"Alright.I have to go but make sure you come this tuesday".He hung up.
"I guess I have no choice".She mumbled.
