Melanie stepped inside Lucas's room, only to find it empty."Where did he go?".She mumbled.

Due to being immersed in examining his room, her crutch hit something but she quickly grabbed it before it hits the ground and turns into shattered pieces.

She placed the unique glass artifact back on the table and silently thanked that she had not created a scene.

She forgot finding where Lucas was as she looked at the interior. The walls were painted white but the furniture gave her a dark vibe. She found the way his bed, wardrobe and shelves which contained numerous books, were all pure black...creepy.

It wasn't that she didn't admire dark colors but considering Lucas's cryptic personality,it only made him seem more scary.

She moved forward and was greeted with a wall full of photographs.A smile appeared on Melanie's lips when she looked at the picture of a chubby boy, probably aroung 6,holding a balloon and a party hat on his head.

There were many childhood photos of Lucas and in all he was smiling brightly. She wondered what changed him and was willing to anything to see him smile like that again.

She moved along the wall, looking at photos but one caught her eye making her hault her steps. It was a photo of Lucas in which he was wearing a black suit and his blonde hair were sleaked back.

His mother, father and Roseanne were also standing beside him wearing a proud expression. She guessed it was his first day at work.

But the most thing bothering Melanie was the girl beside Lucas and his his arm draped over her shoulder as he grinned at the camera.

She had short brunette hair and was hugging him from the side. She didn't remember seeing her in any pictures when Roseanne was showing her the family album. The girl didn't resemble anyone too.

The only question running through Melanie's head was,

Who is she?

She was cut from her train of thoughts when she heard the bathroom door opening. She mentally face-palmed herself that she didn't pay attention to do the sound of water running when she first entered.

Melanie dashed for the door but due to her crutches she could only make a few steps away.

"What are you doing here?".Came a stern voice.

She gulped and slowly turned around to face Lucas. He looked different in his simple blue T-shirt and a black sweatpants.Water was dripping from his recently showered hair and he was holding a towel over half of his head.Which she concluded he had stopped when he saw her.

"I...I-".Words died in the back of her throat when she met his questioning gaze.

"I asked what are you doing here".He repeated himself and she could see he was losing his patience. She cleared her throat and starightened up.

"I..I was told that you were not feeling well so...I came to check in you".Her last words turned into whisper as a blush surfaced.

Lucas stared at her, searching if she is lying."I am fine".He finally said and resumed drying his hair."O..okay then I should just go".She forced a smile, trying her best to act natural and headed for the door.

"Wait".

She froze but reluctanly turned around."Yes?".

Lucas's eyes flickered towards the wall covered with photos and his eyes darkened."How long have you been here?".

The sharpness of his words mad her flinch."I just came..".She trailed off when he began walking towatds her.

Melanie backed until her back hit the wall.He stared down at her."Melanie".He spoke, his breath fanning her face.

She stared at the ground, not being able to look at his face.He tilted his head and leaned in.His lips brushed against her ear sending shivers down her body."I am going to give you an advice".He whispered.

"If you value your life, stop mendling in other's business. Do you understand?".He backed away and looked at her."Do you?".He repeated.

Melanie visibly swallowed and nodded."I understand".
