She had just stepped outside when a loud glass shattering sound filled the house."Lucas!".She heard Mrs.Williams shout so she hurried outside to see what the commotion was.
Melanie let out a gasp as another glass shattered and fell inches away from her feet.Her eyes widened at the scene before her.
"Lucas! Stop this nonsense at once!".Mrs.Williams shouted at her so .
"This is nonsense?".He laughed as he tried to stand still."And what do you call what you have been doing with my life?! Huh?!".He shouted throwing the bottle that was in his hand.
The maids that were standing in the kitchen's doorway,watching the whole seen let out shriek,startled and disappeared out of sight.
"Lucas".His mother said,sternly."You are drunk and do not not know what you are doing.So, stop throwing things and go to your room".She said.
"Lucas please".Melanie spoke for the first time and immediately regretted when his eyes snapped to her."You".He said through gritted teeth."You are the cause of all of this!".He marched towards her making her back away.
"I am sorry".She said.Not even sure why it was fault.It was her Uncle's decision and even if she did refuse,he still would have made het marry Lucas anyway.
"I will never forgive you".He grabbed her by her shoulders and shook her violently."Why can't you leave me alone?".
"You..you are hurting me" She tried to push his hands away but his grip was tight."Lucas".She whimpered.
He pushed her away and staggered back,falling on the couch and was out in a second.Tears streamed down her face as she stared at his motionless body.He was acting so caring in the morning and now he cursed her.He didn't care about her,he was just doing for his parents.
She was a burden afterall,maybe he likes someon else and she was standing in their way.But what can she do now? Where would she go? Her uncle must have already left and she has no friends or other relatives.She was trapped and she could do nothing about it.She was useless,pathetic and crippled.
