"Can we get ice cream on our way home?".The four year old whined."Ofcourse we will".Melanie chuckled at his cuteness.
"Melanie don't spoil him".Roseanne shook her head with a smile."I am not spoiling him.This cute kid deserves it".She pinched his cheeks at which he chuckled and hugged her.
"Alright,enough sugar cotting.Now go and play".Roseanne took her son's bag and motioned him towards the playground while two girls took a seat on the bench.
"You should go easy on him,he is still a child".said Melanie as she watched Kevin sitting on the see saw.
"I know".Roseanne sighed."It's just that everyone loves him so much that they agree to everything he says.I want him to learn how to accept a 'no'.Sebastian agreed with my idea but when Kevin starts to cry when he wants something,he immediately agrees".
Roseanne turned to look at her."Do you think I am being harsh?".
"No".Melanie shook her head."I think you are right.Sometimes we should refuse his requests.But,if they all listen to him,it will make you the bad guy".
"I suppose you are right".Roseanne sighed."The nanny will look after Kevin.Do you want to go get coffee? I am craving for it right now".She dramatically placed a hand on her heart.
"Sounds good".Melanie smiled and stood up."Let's go".Roseanne linked her arm with Melanie and they both walked towards the car.
After five minutes,they found themselves in starbucks."I just adore the way they make these coffee".Roseanne took a sip and closed her eyes,savoring the taste.
"You seem like a huge fan of coffee".Melanie commented."I surely am".The older replied proudly."Okay enough about me.Let's talk about you".She grinned.
"About me?".She frowned."There is nothing interesting to talk about".She absentmindly stirred her drink.
"I mean about you and Lucas".Roseanne wiggled her eyebrows causing Melanie's face to heat up."Nothing has happened between".
"You don't have to be shy.Come on spill".Roseanne pressed."It is true.Nothing happened".Melanie shrugged."Lucas said he isn't ready".She added.
Melanie decided not to tell her about the talk they had or how he behaved last night.She didn't want to tell Roseanne that her brother told her that he will never love her to blamed her for everything.
Melanie knew as Roseanne is,she will decide to talk to Lucas about it,even though Melanie would tell her not to.It was a private conversation afterall.
"Oh Melanie".She reached across the table and grabbed Melanie's hand."My brother can be a jerk sometimes but trust me,he isn't that bad.
He cares about people but..some events made it hard for him to express it.Don't give up on him.Okay?".Roseanne gave her a warm smile."I will".Melanie nodded.
"We should go or Sebastian would get mad" She rolled her eyes."He can be a little too overprotective sometimes".
"Because of that incident?" Melanie blurted making Roseanne pause."What incident?".She asked confused but Melanie noticed that her body had gone tense.
Melanie regretted opening her big mouth.Even though Roseanne was so nice to her which she couldn't tell was an act or not but still if Roseanne hasn't mentioned anything about the incident.It means they were suppose to keep it from her.
"M..maria told me that once Kevin got lost".She felt relieved when Roseanne's body relaxed and she smiled."Yeah..I got scolded very badly for that".
Melanie felt proud at how she covered at up.Maria had been telling many stories about the famlily in which the incident of Kevin getting lost was one.Melanie was glad Maria told her about it or else she would have been in trouble.

"Miss Melanie! You are back".Maria smiled when she saw Melanie entering through the fronr door.
"Thank you".Melanie said as Maria helped her out of her coat."The food is ready.Should I sent it to your room or you prefer to eat in the dining room?".
"What about the others?".She asked,frowning.
"Mrs.Williams had gone out and Young master Lucas refused saying he wasn't feeling good".
Maria hanged her coat on the hook and turned around,waiting for her answer.
"I will eat in the dining room".Melanie replied before making her way towards her room.She had grown,bored of her room.She stays there all day and rarelt comes out.So,she takes every chance she can come out.
"Lucas is sick? I should go check on him".She nodded to herself.After changing she headed for his room.She stopped infront of the stairs.The stairs were hard for her to climb due to her crutches but she wanted to see Lucas.
She took a deep breath and took her first step.She grabbed onto the railings and carefully made her way up.Her crutch slipped making her lose balance but she managed to steady hearself.
A bright smile appeared on her face when she stood infront of his door."I actually made it without falling to my death".She mentally patted herself on the back.
She raised her hand and knocked on the door but got silence as an answer."What if he is sleeping?".She sighed but decided to knock again.She wasn't going to leave after all the hard steps to took to come here.
So,she did a stupid thing,she turned the knob and stepped inside.
