jack and i were joined by christina, tate, bella, ashley, zach, jonah, dani and corbyn. we stood in a circle, the girls and i were on the inside and the boys were on the out. i noticed that the boys were singing live, and first up was corbyn.
i was spun around to corbyn and started dancing with him, i was confused at the situation but enjoyed it completely. we danced together as he sang into the microphone.
when you dream, i hope that you will dream of me
if you ever fall, i hope you'll fall for me
and i swear i know your face, i saw you out there, yeahi knew that zach was singing next, and sure enough, corbyn kissed my cheek before spinning me around into zach's arms and the dancing continued.
'cause i depend on you
when you need me you just call me, i'll be there
when you look over your shoulder, i'll be there
you don't ever have to worry'cause i depend on you, i depend on you
i was finally back in jack's arms as he sang to me, i didn't lose eye contact with him the whole time as his singing was melting my heart. he was singing my favorite part.
when you breathe, silent symphony
when you blink, you steal the sight from me
when we kiss, endless symmetry
you don't have to worry i depend on youi could hear daniel and zach sing the chorus but we didn't move, until jonah's part was up.
when you dream, i hope that you will dream of me
if you ever fall, i hope you'll fall for me
and i swear i know your face, i saw you out there, yeahit was almost repeat, but i fell in love with every moment. i had a special moment with each one of the boys as they sang the song that brought us together. the last person i was spun to was daniel, and i couldn't stop laughing at his attempt to make me laugh.
'cause i depend on you
when you need me you just call me, i'll be there
when you look over your shoulder, i'll be there
you don't ever have to worry'cause i depend on you, i depend on you
just like before, i was swung back into jack's arms and that's where i stayed until the song finished. i tried not to cry as i lent my head on his shoulder and smiled. i saw norah dancing with jake over by the tables and waved at her.
once the song was over, everyone except jack and i left the floor. now was for our dance, and it was to 'say you won't let go'. we didn't move positions for the whole song, jack's head moved closer to my ear as he softly sang along to the song.
when the song was over, jack and i were shown to our table with our families. we watched as many people started speeches and laughter was shared. while food was being served, i decided to change into a shorter dress.
everyone was dancing, we were laughing as each of us tried to look somewhat normal. everyone was seated again as it was time for the speeches, first up was christina and tate. christina started speaking first.
c- good evening, ladies and gentlemen, my name is christina and i am one of the two maids of honor.
when you've been close to someone for this long, you gather a lot of juicy secrets and hilariously embarrassing stories, however, i will spare you from those stories because 1) it would take me days to tell them all and 2) because i respect addi too much to embarrass her on what is supposed to be one of the best days of her life. but, if you happen to catch me anywhere else, the embarrassing stories are fair game.
addi, i want you to know i rewrote this speech about 50 times over. there really aren't words to define the kind of friend you have been to me. there are also no words to describe how happy i am for you and jack today.
we have always said that god made us best friends because our moms couldn't handle us as sisters, and to this day i still believe that's true. we've had some crazy adventures, like our sleepovers and summer vacations. we have our inside jokes and think we're hilarious. that's why tate, you and myself are sisters, because nobody else would understand, and nobody else seems to get just how cool and hilarious we really are.
we've definitely had our moments and our ups and downs but we always find our way back to each other. you told me a few weeks ago, you can't stay mad at me because you have things to tell me. we've always been by each other's sides, so here we are by your side as you start the next crazy adventure in your life known as marriage.
i won't go on too much about when the lovely couple met, mostly because i wasn't actually there, but i may as well have been. i knew jack for a good year before he met addi and once they finally met, i could see the sparks. i've always been the protective best friend, but there was really no reason to be like that with jack around. i could tell from the first time I saw them together that he could see why everyone thinks addi is special, and that he would always do his best to take care of her.
at the time, despite my reassurance that jack would be nuts not to like addi, she refused to believe that he could be interested in her. as usual though, i was right. almost seven years later, i think she might finally believe me.
for a while there, jack, i may have been a little jealous that you were stealing my best friend, but i realize now that as her husband you are her best friend too. that is a role i'm happy to pass on and share. i see how happy you make her and how much she loves you. i also know that you would never hurt her or let anything happen to her. tate and i can't think of a better man for our best friend.
addi, best wishes with your new adventure buddy, your best friend, and your husband. jack, you're a very lucky man. i've had years' worth of putting up with her quirks, her moodiness, and her inability to cook. now it's your turn. just remember, she doesn't like cheap chocolate, and a happy wife makes for a happy life.
may your love be modern enough to survive the times and be old fashioned enough to survive forever.
if everyone would raise their glass now and join me in congratulating the beautiful bride and handsome groom. congratulations. i love you both.
to jack and addi, together forever.
