I suppose something like what Homra was for me was too good to last.
Tatara was dead, and as everyone let it settle in, they got angrier and angrier, especially after we played the footage left on Tatara's camera. The voice of the boy who shot him haunted me in my sleep, nightmares became a regular thing and it had only been two days since his death.
I didn't move as they played the footage, a few guys left and Yata started crying again, but I still couldn't feel anything. It didn't feel real.
But Tatara was dead, not even his ashes were left for us to look at.
"Are you okay?" Yata asked, sitting down beside me on the couch. I had Tatara's old blanket over my shoulders and I looked out the window as a few of the other guys were doing some research on the footage, tracking down the gun company as plan A.
It was amazing how they could work so fast.
"I don't know." I sighed, leaning into the male as he rubbed my back.
I had gone to Sceptre 4 the next day after it happened and demanded that we help do something about this, just so that maybe if we could find the killer - or already knew, it could help Homra.
But they just told me I didn't get a say in what they did.
"What's wrong with me?" I mumbled, "I don't feel a thing. Did I not really care?"
"Of course you cared." Mikoto replied, and I felt Yata turn to look at our king as I did, "I know you cared, you were always comfortable with Tatara, always turned to him for advice."
"Yeah, your right." I breathed.
"Don't worry, sometimes it takes a little longer for it to hit you." He assured.
That's not really something I want to be assured about.
