"What the hell are we gonna do?" He huffed, looking through his drawers for a shirt.
"I don't know, Yata, just... let's just go to bed."
"Seriously?" He snapped, looking back at me, his shirt he was looking for had suddenly been forgotten at my comment, "With all that just happened - you just want to go to bed?! We need to figure this out or we could lose Anna too!"
"I know that, Yata, but we all already know we have nothing against them!" I argued.
"That's not true! We could figure this out!" He countered, glaring hard at me.
I decided to glare back, if he wanted to be angry then fine. I'll be angry too.
"The only thing we have is to fight, like we always do without a decent plan!"
"What the fuck, Yuri?!" He screamed, obviously offended.
"You know we don't stand a chance, Yata, so stop acting all tough!"
"You stop acting like you're our new leader all of a sudden! No one can replace Mikoto - certainly not you!"
"Well you can't either." I hissed, rendering him finally silent, "So what? We go out and fight. Then what?"
"No, no," He shook his head, "I'll go out and fight. I'll protect Anna. You shouldn't be out there."
"Wha- where did that come from?! You can't fight them all alone, dumbass!"
"You almost died, earlier! They could have gotten you both! And you promised you wouldn't leave me!" His voice cracked as he yelled, and I faltered as he ducked his head, fingers squeezing the bridge of his nose, "Shit." He whispered, his breath shaking.
"Misaki." I whispered, feeling like I was about to cry too, I crawled out of bed and slowly approached him. My fingers brushed the hand covering his face, and he quickly turned around, taking a deep breath to try and calm himself down.
"Just go." He choked out.
I swallowed hard, stepping forward and placing my forehead on his bear shoulder, "I'm not leaving you. No matter how hard things get, no matter how injured I am. I made a promise, and I will never break it." I assured, "But don't you ever think I'll be letting you fight battles alone. You can't leave me either."
Slowly, he turned back around, breathing a thank you with our lips brushing against each other, I kissed him as gently as I could.
