The grind never stops, it's been four days now since Tatara's death and one day since Mikoto 'surrendered'. I figured the red king had a little plan of his own to track down the colorless king that introduced himself in the footage from Tatara's camera.
In the meantime, the rest of Homra and my raging boyfriend were continuing with their plan B.
Despite everything that's going on, Yata and I are doing pretty good with keeping our relationship stable.
He called me for lunch and I met him at a small place after changing out of my uniform.
We took a table for two and ordered our food, luckily it wasn't too busy.
"So, any other leads?" I asked.
"No," He grumbled, "I guess we're just scouting around seeing if we can find the bastard anywhere around. He was in that school uniform, so he can't be far."
"Yeah, we'll definitely find him." I agreed, "He'll get what he deserves."
"You're damn right about that."
We both thanked the waiter for our food and dug in right away, changing the conversation from Tatara's killer to more casual things, like working at Sceptre 4 and Chitose never failing to flirt with every girl he see's despite everything that's going on.
"I love your laugh," Yata smiled, "I'm glad you're happy."
"I'm only happy because of you." I smiled in reply.
Our eye contact broke as Yata's watch went off, and I watched as he pulled up a message from Shohei that revealed a video of the exact boy in the video with an address attached. Yata scowled, dropping his chopsticks in his half empty plate and standing up.
"Misaki!" I quickly stood and reached forward, grabbing his wrist.
He turned back to me, his eyes softening as I looked at him.
I wasn't sure why I stopped him, because I didn't have anything to really say to him.
"Just... please be careful." I managed to get out.
He didn't reply, only leaning forward to give me a quick chaste kiss before he picked up his board and left.
I looked back down at the table and smiled lightly at the yen that would pay for our cut-short meal.
