When Anna screamed out Mikoto's name, the sun had set. The flame we had burning had burnt out, and nothing had devastated me more.
As I heard the cheers of the blues, I knew for sure that our King was dead.
I knew this was going to happen, and yet, it hurt as if I had hoped that he would return.
And maybe I did, maybe despite knowing my kings fate I still hoped that he would survive.
But it was either him or all of us, and the rest of the city.
"No blood!" I slowly turned to the others, one by one everyone joined in to the chant, "No bone!"
Hands raised in the air and my eyes stung with tears as I watched, "No ash!"
"No blood," I began, voice shaking, "No bone!" I tried to raise my voice but it only cracked, and I fumbled over 'no ash', completely crumbling to my knees.
Trying to take deep breaths, I glanced over to see Yata barley keeping himself on his feet.
I watching helplessly as our insignia's lit up and rose from our skin to the air, shinning above us, looking over us like Mikoto's last goodbye.
I placed my hands over my mouth, tears falling fast down my cheeks and onto my legs,
Watch over us, Mikoto-san. I thought in a praying manner.
Don't let our fire freeze over.
