After my morning shift at work, I had offered to take Anna out to get ice cream because of the sudden hot whether we were having that day. she quickly agreed, and Rikio was left snoring on the couch as we left, Yata kissing me goodbye and telling us to be safe.
I grinned like an idiot as we walked down the street, Misaki would be such a good husband.
"Yuri-chan? What are you thinking about?"
"A-ah..." I stuttered, remembering that Anna couldn't quiet read my mind anymore, "Just Misaki, as usual."
She smiled lightly, "You really like him, don't you?"
"Of course I do. We keep each other on our feet." I smiled back down at her, and we continued on our way to the small shop.
I paused, feeling an odd shiver up my back, I turned behind me to see the normal crowd that was around everyday. Anna glanced at me confused, but didn't push on what my worry was, and we continued on our way.
It's not far, I can see it down the road... but...
Taking out my phone I pulled up the camera, tilting it just enough to see a group of men almost too obviously following us. There were three of them, and as I put my phone away in my pocket, I wondered what they were after - and who sent them.
They had to have known we were Homra members, or they never would have opted to do this - especially in broad day light.
"Come on, Anna, Ice cream's going to have to wait." I said, grabbing her hand, I made a left to hopefully go in a circle back to Homra. We'd be safer there.
"Why can't things just go my way?" I asked myself quietly as another two ran up in front of us.
"Yuri!" Anna cried, tugging on my hand, I turned to see the other three behind us, masks appearing on their faces.
Huh? I narrowed my eyes, they were from the green clan.
"What the hell is your problem?!" I began, standing my ground.
"You're not, that's a for sure." One answered, though I couldn't really tell who, "We're after the girl."
"Like hell I'll let you take her, ass-hats!" I retorted, clenching my fists.
"Yuri-" Anna began again, and I took a deep breath, cursing the fact that she was here.
"Don't worry, Anna. I can handle them." I assured, though, I think she knew that my words were pretty much empty.
