CHAPTER SIXTEEN (Clarity)
The creepy doctor gave me some pain killers and told me I should be fine. I did have a broken rib, but do I give a crap? Not really. The pain killers worked. The doctor gave me some water and smiled at me. Creep. I thought to myself. Dallas and Jason were in the waiting room, while this psycho doctor gave me pills.
I walked out of the room and found Dallas and Jason watching Spongebob. They acted like children. I guess that is how their minds work. Like a child’s.
“Guys?” I asked, as I pushed the dust of the pills from it.
Dallas jumped away from the T.V. and looked at Jason. “Hey, babe.” Dallas said walking towards me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close. His lips looked so inviting. But before we had a heated make-out session in the middle of the doctor’s office. A woman with three children cleared her throat.
“Come on.” Dallas said, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the exit. Jason soon unlocked his cherry red Camaro. Dallas pulled the passenger seat forward and helped me in the car.
When Jason started the engine, he turned to look at me and gave me a boyish smile. “How does the mall sound to you guys?” He asked. Dallas only shrugged, so I did the same.
“And we are off to the mall!” Jason screamed, rolling his windows down.
Twenty minutes later, after constant bickering and screaming the lyrics to some overrated, mainstream pop music. We pull into the mall parking lot. Dallas opened the door to help me out. Even though I was clearly capable. I do appreciate him. I have never had anyone like him before. It’s amazing.
Before I knew it, we were walking through the long corridors with shops lining the walls. Dallas holding my hand, Jason walking beside us. This is a new way for my life. I loved it. I didn’t want anything to change.
“I need some new beanies.” Jason stated, walking into a Zumiez’s. Dallas pulled me into the store after I threw some profanities his way. Complaining about not wanting to go into that store.
“Here!” Jason yelled from across the store. I gave him a questioning look then started towards him and Dallas.
Jason tossed me a black beanie, “Why am I holding a beanie?” I questioned.
“Wow, it’s for you. Go ahead try it on.” Jason urged on. I had no clue how to wear a beanie. It was sad. But it was the truth.
“I don’t know how to wear one.” I mutter.
“Come here, and give me the beanie.” Dallas ordered.
“Yes, sir.” I mock saluted him. I handed him the beanie and he pulled it on my head. He pulled my frizzy red hair down around my shoulders and adjusted the beanie. Turning me around gently, he smiled.
“You look hot, like really hot.” Jason exclaimed standing behind me.
“Hey! Whose girlfriend is she?” Dallas said, punching his arm.
“Sorry, man. I was only kidding.” Jason replied, before grabbing his beanie and heading towards the cashier.
Dallas pulled the beanie off my head, then started towards the cashier himself.
