Grace's POV
"Here, I think this is yours," I told Ian after handing him an assignment from English that was laying on the floor. After our 'little' food fight in the kitchen, we cleaned up (separately, of course) and started to work a bit on our project, but we didn't get much done. We kept talking about nothing in particular, but everything at the same time.
"Thank," He smiled at me. If someone were to say to me that Ian was attractive, I most definitely would agree. I don't think he realized how many girls were falling for him. He was totally oblivious, as most guys are.
"I think I have everything," Ian said, looking around the room for anything else that could be his. "Should we head downstairs?"
"Uh, yeah sure," I said, unsure of myself as I walked out the door, leading the way. I didn't want today to be over already, it was really fun which surprised me. We walked down the grand staircase towards the door when my dad walked in.
"Hi Daddy," I smiled at him, giving him a hug from the side as I reached the bottom step.
"Hi, sweetheart," He told me and looking up to see Ian walking down the stairs.
"I'm assuming the kitchen is all cleaned up," Daddy raised an eyebrow at Ian, who was still walking down the stairs. Wasn't he right behind me?
"Yes, sir," Ian said. I was surprised, yet again, by the manners that suddenly showed up. He never acted like this at school, he was almost a completely different person.
"That's great to hear. And we'll be seeing you Friday, is that correct? " my dad questioned. Ian still looked unsure.
"Are you sure I won't be interrupting anything?" Ian began
"Nonsense. We would love to have you over," Daddy smiled at him,
"Okay, that sounds great, then," Ian said. I could see the corners of his mouth turning up into a smile.
"Grace, you can text him the details before then," Dad said.
"O-Okay," I stuttered, still shocked about what was happening in front of me.
"Thank you for having me. We meet up again Wednesday, right?" Ian asked me.
"Yeah, Wednesday. I'll have my car back by then, too, so I'll drive us all back," I told Ian. He said his goodbyes to Daddy, and I walked him out the door.
"How are you getting home?" I asked Ian once I remembered that Kate took us, meaning that none of us had a car.
"I'm just going to walk home, it's not too far," Ian shrugged.
"Okay, well call me if you decide you need a ride," I laughed. "Oh, and Ian," I began.
"Yeah?"
"I had a really fun time today," I smiled. I can honestly say I wasn't expecting today to go well at all, but I was definitely proved different.
"I did, too. See you tomorrow, Grace," Ian smiled and began walking home. I sat on the steps of my patio out front for a few minutes, trying to evaluate my feelings until I heard a door opening behind me.
"He seems like a nice boy," Daddy told me while sitting down next to me.
"You invited him over for dinner?" I questioned, still in shock.
"He doesn't seem too bad, besides the piercings and tattoos. C'mon, let's go inside. I'm going to grab something to eat," my dad said while standing up and opening the door. Once inside, I turned up the stairs and began walking to my bedroom.
When I got into the safety of my own room, I shut the door, grabbed my guitar and started strumming a tune that I knew by heart, letting my mind finally wander about the events that happened today.
Unlike his usual 'bad-boy' behavior, I saw a totally different person. One who was respectful of others and actually friendly, but I didn't want to get in too deep in case this was all an act. With people like Ian, you may never know which. I felt as if I was seeing the 'real' Ian, and not just some bad boy who didn't care about anyone or anything. He seemed much more comfortable and relaxed when he wasn't being rude or disrespectful.
I remembered the way he looked at me, or his quiet comment when I brought up not having a boyfriend. I could remember feeling my heart flutter and my insides become full of butterflies when we got closer or when he would look me in the eyes with his gorgeous blue ones. When we would accidentally touch, I could feel the sparks spread in my body like a wildfire. It just felt, right.
Could he be someone I could get closer to, or was this all part of working on the project?
