Chapter Eight

Should I try to give him a chance? Give us a chance?

I shook my head as I neared the northern border, clearing my thoughts. I saw some of the warriors surrounding three rouges. I shifted back into my human form and walked toward them, all the attention turned toward me. I let my power course through the air and the rogues stiffened a little bit. The one in the middle looked me straight in the eyes and smiled. I raised an eyebrow at him and his smile broadened. 

"What do you want?" I asked with a bored look on my face.

"We have a message from Alpha Arobynn from Lunar Claw." He paused, "He said every Alpha family as a secret of their own, and he knows yours Melanie. He wants you to beware that he as a weapon up his sleeve that will stop whatever your secret is, he wouldn't tell me. Now you heard his message, I'm curious. What is your little dirty secret?" He said and began to advance on me.

I nodded my head at the warriors on my side. They slowly surrounded the rogues as their attention was fixed on me. I quickly sidestepped the man in front of me. With a flick of my wrist, the warriors killed the other two men behind him. I was about to kill the man in front of him when his scent hit me.

Why the hell is he here?

The rogue in front of me took the chance to attack me while I was distracted. He shifted and landed on top of me. He tried to bite my neck but I snapped his head before he could do anything. I pushed the wolf off of me and stood up, dusting off my pants. I looked up to see the warriors staring at me worried.

"It was nothing, clean this up." I muttered and walked back. As I walked deeper into the woods, his gaze followed me everywhere I went. I ignored him and shifted into my wolf and made my way to my secret place. It wasn't to far from where I was so I made it quickly. I heard running behind me as I stopped at my secret place. There was a rock wall that had a small waterfall coming over it. At the bottom of the waterfall is a small pond that is about 12 feet deep. The water is crystal clear with big rocks surrounding the water. I walked over to the edge in the water and layed in the sun. I waited as Alpha Blake waited at the edge of the woods. I looked at him and nodded before I shifted back into my human form. I took off my shoes and set them aside. The water bit at my toes as I lowered them into the water. I turned around to look and my breath caught in my throat. He was still in his wolf but his snout was two feet away from my head. I moved to the side and faced the water again. He shifted and sat next to me. Echo was going crazy with how close we were to him. His gaze burned into my skin as he slowly looked over my face. I hate how he affects me and I do not want him to know how he affects me. We sat in silence as he took in my features. I don't know if I should break the silence or not. I took a small deep breath and looked at him. I was lost in his eyes as we stared at each other. A piece of hair fell in front of my face and his eyes darted to it before back to my eyes.

"Hi." I muttered, suddenly nervous.

His hand slowly came up and tucked the piece of hair behind my ear. A tiny gasp came out of my mouth as tiny sparks. My eyes fluttered shut at the contact. 

"Hello my little mate."
