He is here.

My palms started to sweat as my dad invited him in. I sat down in my seat as they walked in. I looked down and started to fiddle with my dress. My brother sat on the right and my mom was on my left. My dad sat at the end of the table, next to my brother and Alpha Blake sat next to him. Tingles erupted on my body wherever Alpha Blake looked. Echo was itching to get out and have her way with her mate. Each time he looked at us, it was getting harder and harder to control Echo. I kept my face down as mt dark blue eyes shifted to red and back to blue. I stared at my hands as my claws were coming out. I curled my hands into fists as my claws dung into my hands, drawing blood. I was too concentrated on controlling Echo that I didn't realize the conversation went silent and the smell of blood filled the room. I jumped as my mom put her hand on my shoulder. I looked at her eyes and saw concern.

"Melanie is everything alright?" She asked me.

I tore my gaze away and looked into my dads, Jakes, and Alpha Blakes eyes. My eyes lingered on Alpha Blake for a second. His eyes turned black before flashing back to his green eyes. I quickly shifted back to my mother before nodding.

"Yeah I-", I cleared my throat, "Yeah I'm fine." I said.

The answer was good enough for my dad and brother as they resumed their conversation about god knows what. My mother raised her eyebrow at me before eating her meal. I started to push my food around on my plate. The whole time, it was like his eyes were burning holes into my head. Sometimes I think Echo is a cat instead of a wolf, she purring at the attention our mate is giving us.

I gotta get out of here.

I stood up abruptly which caused my chair to fall back. My dad looked at me furiously with what I just did.

"I'm going to go, I have some things to do." I muttered before running upstairs to my room.

I took the dress off of me and slipped on a pair of black leggings and crop top. I slipped on my running shoes and headed downstairs. I walked to the back door but I was pulled into the dining room by Jake. Alpha Blake was standing against the wall with his arms crossed as my father stood next to him. I glanced at my mother, who was looked at me with sympathy, next to my father. I looked at her confused before I turned my attention to my dad.

" Where are you going." He commanded.

"Mathew, let he-" my mom began.

"Josie be quiet, now don't make me ask again." My dad snapped.

I stood frozen as I looked at my dad. I don't even know where I was going so how can I answer him. I started to get a headache and opened my mind-link, knowing what caused it.

"Melanie, there's a few rouges on the northern border. One of the rogues requested you to go." Jerry's voice rang in my head.

"Got it, I'll be there in a minute."  I replied and shut off my mindlink.

I turned my attention back to my dad who looked at me, furious.

"I got to leave now, I got more pressing matters to attend to." I said bluntly and turned to walk out. I opened up the back door and was about to walk out when he spoke.

"And what are these more pressing matters, Mate." He spit out with distaste and I turned around.

"And that is none of your business, Mate." I spit back out at him. I turned back around and walked out the door, making sure to slam it in his face. I shifted into my wolf and made my way to the northern border. I was boiling with anger, from me and Echo. Echo was furious that I didn't go and run into his arms. Me? I was furious for her thinking that I was going to mate with him right away. She keeps telling me to give him a chance, but I don't know. Why should I give him a chance when it sounded like he didn't want me. To be fair, neither did I.

"Well just maybe Melanie, there is a lot to the picture than what seems to be." Echo's voice rang in my head. Doubt started to settle in my stomach at what she said. What is Echo talking about?

Should I try to give him a chance? Give us a chance?
