Right?
I was downstairs sitting in the couch watching Riverdale. It was like any other morning at my house but it wasn't. I wasn't home. And it was all because of the mate bond. My attention was fixed on the couch. Memories from last night replayed in my head over and over again. I scraped every side of my brain trying to figure out if that kiss meant something. And every time I thought about it, I came up with nothing. Blake said it was part of his end of the deal. Was that the whole reason why he kissed me or was there another reason behind it. I sighed and stood up from the couch. I turned off the TV and walked into the kitchen. I grabbed a water from the fridge and turned around right when Blake walked into the kitchen. We stared at each other for God's know how long before the front door opened.
"Melanie!" Esme sung. She pushed past Blake and stood in front of me. I raised my eyebrows at her.
"Are doing anything?" She asked me. I shook me head no. A big smile grew on her lips as she grabbed my hand.
"Good because I want to go on a run and your coming with me. And also I want to see what your wolf looks like," she paused and turned to Blake," your welcome to join if you want. She is your mate after all." After a few minutes of glaring at each other, Blake slumped his shoulders.
"Fine." He muttered. He look so cute with the look of defeat on his face. Wait. No not cute. Blake is not cute, at all!
We walked out of the house until we were at the tree line. I faltered a step the closer we got to the woods. Esme noticed me falter and stopped.
"You ok?" She asked me. I nodded my head.
"Yeah, you guys can shift first." I said quickly. They both looked at me weird. Esme nodded at me slowly before she shifted, Blake shifted too. Blake was a black wolf that stood up to my waist. Esme was was a dark brown wolf that was a few inches shorter than Blake. I started to back away from them but a growl cut me off. I looked at who it was and I don't know why I was surprised. Blake stared me down, like he was challenging me. My wolf peaked up at the challenge.
"Come on Melanie. We can't hide from our mate anymore." Echo's voice rung in my head.
I stood there staring back at Blake. I thought about what Echo said and I sighed in defeat. Echo was right. I need to stop hiding from people because of me being a hybrid. I counted to three in my head before the familiar sound of bones cracking filled my head. I looked at Blake and Esme who looked at me surprised before I ran into the woods. I could hear their paws hit the ground behind me. I don't know where I was going but I ran. I ran for a long time before I circled back around to the house. Blake and Esme were still behind me as the house came into view. I gifted quickly before running inside. I closed the door behind me and ran into my room before locking the door.
"Melanie!" Esme yelled and pounded on my door. I slid down to the floor and put my head in between my legs. I sat there until my stomach growled. I looked at the clock and it read 11:30 pm. I sat up and stretched my legs. I unlocked the door and walked down into the kitchen to get some food. I had a bag of gummy bears in my hands when the light turned on from the living room.
" Melanie, can you come here please?" Blake said.
"And don't you dare run upstairs woman." Esme's voice chimes in.
Oh no.
