Chapter Twenty-Nine

    Blake stood in front of the door, catching his breath. As he leaned against the door, he closed his eyes and ran his fingers through his hair. To be honest, the sight of him kinda turned me on. I shook my head to clear the thoughts that began to pop into my head.

He sighed and opened his eyes to look at me. His gaze swept over me and the burning sensation was replaced by heat. I clenched my teeth and balled my hands into fists. I didn't want this. I didn't want to go into heat at all or be forced to complete the mating bond with Blake. For a few minutes of Blake and I stared at each other before he cleared his throat.

"Are you... okay?" He asked me and pushed off the door.

"Besides the fact that I want to jump on you and my body feels like it's on fire? Yeah I'm just peachy." I snapped at him. He sighed again.

"Can I sit next to you?" He asked me. I nodded my head.

I watched his every movement as he slowly made his way over to the bed. He sat next to me. He hesitated before, slowly rubbing my back. As much as I hated it, I leaned into his touch. It soothed the burning to a dull ache, but the idea of jumping on him increased. It didn't take long before sleep began to close my eyes. The last thing I was aware of was Blake's hand slowing rubbing circles on my back.

Blakes POV:

Melanie fell asleep soon after I arrived. I just wanted her to rest and I don't want to force her into something that she's not ready for. I don't even know if I'm ready to go that far with her, let alone start a family or something. I sighed and slowly got up from the bed, careful not to wake her. When I was positive that she'll stay asleep, I silently walked down the steps to where Esme sat on the kitchen counter.

"So how did that go?" She smirked at me.

" You know, you are a very nosy sister, but if you really need to know, we didn't do anything. " I told her and sat across from her. She swore under her breath.

"Well are you actually going to do anything, like at all?" She raised her eyebrows. I groaned.

"Stop asking these questions Esme. They are only supposed to stay between Melanie and I." I told her and walked out to the hallway.

"Whatever! I'll just get it out of her. I think Xavier is outside waiting for you. He told me he was gonna stop by as soon as you get home." She yelled from the kitchen. I peeked out of the window and sure enough, Xavier was walking out of the trees. I quickly walked out to him.

"She's in heat, isn't she?" He asked me and looked toward the house. I walked closer to him.

"Yeah." I whispered. It didn't comfort me that he knew she was in heat. I just wanted him and any other male to stay away from the house.

"I'll set up a perimeter around your house and I'll make sure the warriors aren't in range to smell her. But if I do, you do realize what needs to happen right?" He asked me.

" Yeah I do. Just set up the perimeters please, I'm already on edge as it is." I told him.

Xavier nodded his head. He began to walk into the trees but turned around. Xavier glanced at my entire look and gave me a small smile. He took off into the woods and left me standing there alone. For a few seconds, I allowed myself to relax and listen to the birds and the wind. The sounds of nature always relaxed me. It brought me a small comfort that Xavier was willing to put some warriors around the house just to keep Melanie away from others. He might have just done it to help me control the wolf side of me I guess. I shook my head and walked inside.

Seconds turned into minutes. Minutes turned into hours. Esme decided that she was going to stay somewhere else for the night, so she wouldn't set me off I guess. I was currently laying in the living room doing nothing. I lost track of time as I sat there and soon enough it was midnight. Around midnight is when I heard her get up. It was a miracle I guess that she was asleep for so long. I listened as I heard her walk around upstairs then her steps on the stairs. Soon enough the light turned on and there she stood against the door. My breath caught in my throat as I looked at her.

"What are you doing sitting here in the dark." She asked me. I shrugged my shoulders.

"I actually do not know." I told her. She frowned.

"Go to bed, it's past midnight." I shrugged. It was easier to act like this than to focus on my thoughts of her. She sighed and walked over to me until she stood in front of me and put out her hand. Automatically, I grabbed it and she pulled me up. She was standing close to me, so close out chests were almost touching. Neither of us moved.

"Go to bed." She said. I looked up. When I looked down at her, I looked straight into her eyes. She was looking at my lips, and I thought I saw a battle behind them before she blinked and looked at me. My gaze slowly went to her lips but I looked away again. I shouldn't try to kiss her.

As soon as I looked away, I felt her hand go to my neck and pull my face down. Then she was kissing me. She was actually kissing me and I kissed her back. My hands went to her hips as she put her hands in my hair. Oh shit. My body worked on its own accord as my mind had gone completely blank. Before I knew, she had her legs locked around my hips as I pushed her against the wall. It felt like hours, but in reality it was actually minutes. I pulled back to catch my breath. We both stared at each other panting, I was still holding her.

"I want you now." She whispered. I blinked a few times thinking I missed heard her. "I know that I'm in heat, but I still have control of my mind and I know that I want you right now."

"Are you completely sure." I asked. She nodded then kissed me.

I kissed her back and carried her upstairs into my room. I laid her down on the bed and hovered above her. I was about to ask her if she was sure again but she kissed me again. And I don't think I will ever get tired of feeling her lips against mine. I pulled away and took off my shirt. Her eyes slowly traveled up my stomach and finally looked me in my eyes. She gave me a smile and I couldn't help but smile back. Then I kissed her again.
