Chapter Twenty-Six

    The next morning I woke up next to Blake on the couch. I don't know how I got there but it was comfortable. I yawned as I sat up on the couch. Blake was still sleeping, so I slowly got off the couch and walked into the kitchen. I yawned again as I walked into the kitchen and stretched out my arms. I was still tired that I didn't notice the figure behind me until I was engulfed into a hug. A small squeal escaped my mouth as I jumped away from the person. As I turned around, I saw Grace's blonde hair and blue eyes as I smiled at her. 

"I missed you so much." She whispered in my ear as she pulled away and looked at me from an arms length away. "You have so much to tell me so spill." 

    A small laugh escaped my mouth as I laughed at her.  I opened my mouth to speak but a squeal from Grace shut my mouth.

"You're marked!"She screamed before she started to jump up and down.  A small smile appeared on my lips as a small blush linted my cheeks. I quickly covered her mouth as I told her to be quiet. She licked the inside of my palm and I jumped back from her. She began laughing as I started to wipe my hand on my pants. I look over to Grace who was giving me a goofy looked as her voice began to ring inside my head.

"So when are you guys going to you know..." 

    I looked at her weird as I didn't understand what she meant. I thought over it for a second before I realized what she meant. My face burned up as I looked at her with wide eyes.

"Grace!" I whined to her as she started to laugh at me. I remained flustered as she began to calm down. I opened my mouth multiple times to reply to her but nothing came out. Her eyes glanced over my shoulder for a quick second before her eyes flickered back to mine. I glanced behind me so see Blake leaning against the door with a playful smirk on his face. I turned toward to see Grace grinning like a mad wolf. She began to back away and gave me a tinny wave before she ran up the stairs.  I sighed and turned around to Blake who looked down at his phone as it buzzed. He groaned as he put his hand on his face before looking at me.

"Your father wants to see us in his office in 20 minutes." He spoke to me. I nodded wordlessly at him.

    Twenty minutes later, Blake and I were standing in my father's office with Jake, my mother and father. We just walked in and my mother was talking quietly to my father. She glanced up at us and smiled at me. My father gestured to the seats that were in front of his desk where Jake was currently sitting in one. Blake sat down in the chair as I stood against the wall. I stared at the corner of the desk as I began to zone out. My mind was blank has I zoned out but my mother's voice brought me back.

"Melanie darling, can we go on a walk to get some fresh air, I'm feeling a little warm." My mother's voice rang out. I looked at her weirdly but nodded my head. She kissed my dad on the cheek and we walked out of the door. She took my hand and guided me to the back door of the pack house where we walked into the woods following the paths throughout the woods. We walked in silence for a little while until we couldn't here the noise of the pack house. My mother glanced at me before she broke the silence.

"Why didn't you tell me that Alpha Blake was your mate." She said. I looked at her real quickly and was about to deny it when her hand pointed to my neck. I looked down and saw my mark was slightly visible through my hair. I looked at my mother to see her smiling at me before pulling me into a bone crushing hug.

"Honey, I am so glad you found your mate. " She said to me and moved my hair to fully see my mark. Her smiled grew larger as she dropped my hair back onto my shoulder.

"So you're not mad are you, that I didn't tell you." I asked her. A laugh escaped her lips.

"Of course not! You are my daughter Melanie, all I want for you is to be happy. I am sure your father will be happy too, I just don't know how he will take the news first to be honest to you. He has his mood swings every now and then." We both laughed at her comment before we fell into a comfortable silence. 

"Melanie?" My mother spoke.

"Yes mum."

"Totally random question, but when exactly did he mark you?" She asked me as she glanced at me out of the corner of her eyes.

"About three days ago I think, why?" I asked her, totally confused.

"And you guys didn't have ..." my mother said before I quickly shook my head. She laughed at me and pulled my arm for me to stop.

"Melanie, if you guys don't complete the mating bond one week after he marks you then you will go into heat." My mother looked straight at me with a serious face. My face dropped as I processed what she said.

"So in four days . . . " I said and my mother completed what I was going to say.

"In four days, you will go into heat."
