Ban was sitting by the window and stared out contemplating everything that had happened.

His heart was torn.

She was back. (Y/N) was alive. How could she? And why wasn't she remembering anyone?
It's been so many years that even he couldn't remember every single detail.

But he never forgot her, even when he met Elaine after (Y/N) had left him and she had confessed her feelings for him he couldn't develop any deeper feelings than friendship.

(Y/N) was his soul mate. She was his support, his guidance and his best friend.
They both came from similar circumstances and went through things that not just anyone could have survived through. She understood him like no other on this planet.

So it was tearing him apart that the same person was looking at him like a stranger, but he also knew that they weren't bonding these last few days for nothing. The connection was still there.

His thoughts were interrupted by a knocking.

"Ban? Can I come in?"

"Yeah" he said never taking his eyes from the view outside.

He heard her enter the room and take a few steps before stopping.

"I need to talk to you"

"Then talk." He said with no hint of emotion in his voice. He wasn't trying to be an asshole.
But he couldn't bring himself to face her just yet.

"Can you look at me while I'm talking then?" She said, a bit agitated.
She understood that Ban was feeling confused and hurt, but so was she and ignoring her wasn't going to help.

He sighed and looked her way "Happy?" She rolled her eyes and walked over carefully.

"I know this is confusing. And I hate knowing that I am causing you so much pain.
I really do care for you.. Maybe not in that way but I have technically only known you for a few days."
She said carefully

He looked away, slightly hurt by her words, he knows that she has a point, but it hurt nonetheless.

"Did you come here to discuss something or just to pull apart the wound further?" he said crossing his arms, still not meeting her eyes.

She sighed, she knew she wasn't going to get anywhere if she tried to argue with him so she got straight to the point. "Gowther is going to help me regain my memories"

Ban snapped his head up and stood up looking down at her.
"Really? Is it possible?"

She laughed slightly "I'm a little hurt that you're so excited, makes me feel that you don't like me that much" she mocked.

His face went red and he became flustered "No that's not what I-"

"I'm just teasing you " she smiled "And yes, Gowther said he could try"

Suddenly Ban narrowed his eyes after giving it a thought.

"Why did you feel the need to discuss this with me?" he asked suspiciously.

"What?.. Well, I mean since my memories are just as important to you as well I thought you'd want to know-"

"Gowther said there was a big risk didn't he? Then forget it! I'm not letting you risk your life!" the fox yelled getting ready to leave the room.

"Ban that's not your decision to make!" she yelled from behind him.

He turned around to face her. "Then why even ask me?!"
