Chapter 27 - Silence

(AU: I am seriously crying right now because I had this random suggestion playlist playing on spotify in the background while I wrote this and my ears caught this song I've never heard before and it was just, wow was it fitting. T-T) (PS. Slight lemon ahead)

"T-Tonight?" Ban asked in shock and (Y/N) only smiled while nodding.

"What's with the rush?" he chuckled. "We have all the time in the world" he grinned before kissing her and almost missed the hurt look in her eyes.

"(Y/N)?" he asked while brushing a strand of hair out of her face while softly kissing her cheek. "What's wrong?" he said gently while brushing his lips over her eyelids, something he would always do when she seemed upset.

Suddenly he felt something damp against his lips. He pulled away and saw the tears that pooled around her eyes that threatened to escape. He felt his heart clench at the sorrow he saw floating around inside. Ban and (Y/N) has been together for over 20 years, give or take, and he could tell that something was really, really wrong.

"(Y/N) you're scaring me.. What's the matter?" he said as calmly as he could but the tremble in his voice gave him away. His heart almost stopped when she cupped his hands and began kissing them desperately.

"W-Why are you apologizing?.. (Y/N)?" he said while cupping her cheek and he felt himself starting to tear up. "(Y/N) what happened? Please tell me" his voice cracked.

His mind raced with every possible scenario. Did she want to break up? Did she cheat on him? Are the children not his? Of course they are but he couldn't think straight at the moment. She buried her face in her hands and began sobbing. 

Ban placed his hands on hers while trying to make her look at him.

"(Y/N) please talk to me.. Please.." he said while leaning his face down to her level. "What happened?" he asked while his voice trembled. "Did something happen?" she kept shaking her head and he felt his tears starting to fall. "What did you do?" he asked while he kept trying to make her look at him. "W-Why won't you look at me?" he said before a sob escaped his throat. He was now terrified because whatever they would fight, argue or be upset with each other over, she has never avoided to look at him like this. 

"(Y/N) look at me!" he yelled louder than he meant to and watched as she froze up before she carefully removed her hands from her face. 

He cupped her face and made her look at him.

"(Y/N).. Do you love me?" he asked and she felt his hands tremble against her cheeks before she placed hers over them while soothingly stroking her thumb against the soft skin.

"More than anything" she whispered while leaning into his touch.

"Then please.. Tell me what is going on" he mumbled and rested his head against hers and felt her nod before she took a deep breath.

She held his hands tightly while telling him everything Merlin had told her about their immortality and the goddesses cruel last joke on them. She watched intently how Ban went trough different expressions but his last one surprised her, he looked relieved. Before she could continue he kissed her and let out a small chuckle.

"That sucks.." he said while running his fingers trough her hair. "But I mean.. There's still time"

"Ban.."

"I mean, the kids will be close to 50 by the time so we might even get to see grandchildren"

"Ba-"
