"Call in surrender, still won't feel like defeat."
- Rasmussen (Denmark 2018), after the jury voting, probably.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, to begin with, I initially wanted to do a normal page regarding a random topic, considering it's the Post-Eurovision Depression period of time, however I noticed something which basically imploded this year.
Therefore, I'm ranting it - however this might sound controversial for several people as many have different point of views regarding the situations, so don't expect this rant to end up with everyone basically approving about one opinion.
Just saying, by the way. Here we go.
Regarding Eurovision, we all have a certain group or number of people which are in a fandomof an artist. This isn't uncommon to see, especially for the europals.
However, there's been cases where one artist which participates or participated had... a certain issue going on, an issue some people seem not to forget and simply transform it into major hatred for the one they once used to stan.
Now, we're pretty much discussing and debating about this little question:
"Does an artist deserve a whole bunch of hatred because of something (literally anything) they've done?"To answer it, we need to reach 2 points:
1. The fandom's devotion for one artist;
2. The mistake he/she's done (or they've done) and the ultimate reaction afterwards;As usual, every fandom is usually mixed, so I don't try to generalise one of the fandoms in a positive or negative way.
It's all neutral here.So, let's begin with the first point:
The fandom's devotion for one artist.Every fandom has its ups and downs - and that is basically found in every kind of group which stans pretty much a thing, whether it's a movie, singer, game, etc.
But, going into our fandom (because honestly, that's why you might be here, ain't it?), there's always that one stanner which is deluded as hell.
To put it in words, that person which believes that his/her idol is a literal angel on this planet and can't do any possible wrong doings - and if extreme mode - would bash other people which won't agree to that opinion of his/hers/them.
(I mean, it's pretty complicated... You can't anticipate one person's behaviour online, so yeah)This, my fellow people reading, it's pretty much delusion at its finest.
"OMG, how dare u insult my bby like that ! Youre just jelous of him being more talented than u ! ily [insert artist here] !!!!!!!! 😍😘😀😊😏😘😘😻💑💑"
- one cringy stanner which really would need a grammar book as soon as possible. and possibly 2-3 years away from internet.There's also those people which literally fantasize being married with their assumed "beloved" and would brag it everywhere, even though in hell it wouldn't happen.
But that's probably the ones we care less - because anyway no one cares.So, those people under this example live with the perception that their idols are perfect human beings and can't do no wrong.
