Alright, so:

Junior Eurovision this year will be hosted in Belarus' capital, Minsk. But not only that - this edition is kind-of already making history already and it didn't even began.

Many people seem to avoid this spin-off due to considering it "too childish" or "simply useless". But hear me out on this one a bit.

JESC 2018 will have a whooping 19 countries competing for the win, despite Ukraine and Cyprus' eventual withdrawal.

France returns to the contest after its last appearance in 2004, Azerbaijan's last appearance was in 2013 and Israel was last seen in 2016.

All 3 confirmed this edition.

Furthermore, to the part I'm honestly incredibly happy about...

We have 2 new debuting nations in Junior Eurovision:
- Wales (under the welsh broadcaster S4C)
- Kazakhstan (under Khabar Agency broadcaster)

While Wales was already in the Eurovision family since its very first sighting in 2017 during Eurovision Choir of the Year, placing 2nd overall, Kazakhstan is the newest addition.

Kazakhstan had been broadcasting the actual contest since 2008 and 2 local broadcasters have been trying to join the contest in one way or another - the first one being the one which takes charge now of Kazakhstan in JESC.

And to see now that all the attempts of joining and struggling to join Eurovision finally paid off in a way (not the actual contest, but still close enough), it makes me and the fellow europals confident about the possibility to see them in the real contest as well.

More languages for us to listen to, woop woop ~

But considering Kazakhstan, I'm happy to see my fellow country succeeding. I wish them the best and I hope we have a good debut in the contest.

Junior Eurovision 2018 is scheduled to begin on Sunday, November 25th. So far, we only know one entry, and that's Russia's entry.
