(30+1 readers so far, thank you so much!
So finally this is probably the first of my personal posts regarding opinions and all that. As usual, you're not forced to like my entire top 5, but be respectful. Thanks in advance. ^^)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Wow, time flies too fast even for me to notice.
In order to celebrate 30+ reads this book had so far (and thank you all, honestly), I wanted to go with a "personal opinion" kind-of thing. And as Eurovision 2018 is close, I just wanted to go for that.
My top 5 in Eurovision Song Contest 2018, before the show:
(And, as mentioned already, opinions are welcomed. Only respect my opinion and I'll genuinely respect yours too. Alright? Good. Let's begin.)5: Albania
(Eugent Bushpepa - Mall)
To be fair and honest with you, Albania in Eurovision is kind-of like hit-or-miss for me. They do deliver some potential in the very beginning, however they ruin it because of the revamps in the very last moments.
Fun fact: Peralle (Albania 2016, before revamp) was in my top 5 of the year and I honestly loved it big time. When it changed into Fairytale, then it dropped massively. Probably my biggest letdown in that year regarding songs, and I never forgave Albania for that.
However, for some random reason, with the exception of 2007, all the male acts from Albania were pretty amazing. Eugent right here is no exception - talented singer, majestic vocals and a simple-yet-effective song which basically sold it for me.
Plus this dude managed to sing Suus (Albania 2012, whoever doesn't know it, look it up) astoundingly well, so I hope he won't end up sick afterwards.
Okay, off-topic(-ish?) out, Mall is really such a great song, I'd play it for days and I wouldn't get bored of it at all. It's still as amazing as the first time I heard it.
Albania, loves, this kind of songs I'd need more in Eurovision, and not yet again a badly-revamped ballad performed by a female singer. Thank god this song wasn't translated into English!
4: Hungary
(AWS - Viszlat Nyar)
(sorry, I can't put accents on an improvised keyboard so I hope it's all clear)
Oh, Hungary, Hungary, Hungary. That country, alongside Georgia of course, which doesn't seem to be fixed on one particular music genre.
It's a good thing though, don't worry.
I honestly never thought that I'd see in my entire life post-industrial metal on the Eurovision stage. Ever. And yet, our neighbours are doing that without a simple trace of shame and I'm living for it.
