I was tired for the whole day Sunday. I was at work but I couldn't get much done. Lucy ended up sending me home after lunch. I felt bad, she knew I had  gone out with the Sins so I should have dealt with the consequences. I walked home and passed out in my work clothes on the couch. I slept until morning refreshed for the next day of work. Lucy had woken me up a few hours before work and I got ready. She made breakfast for the two of us and I felt guilty for being a free loader. I could tell she wasn't happy but she seemed so sweet and calm.

Sympathy?

She seemed okay but something was off. I decided not to push at anything and left it at that. We walked together to work and she gave me all the papers I failed to complete yesterday. I had quite the stack. I was more productive then yesterday but I still couldn't focus. Something was constantly firing in my brain. Just like the other day, but slightly worse.

The clock on the wall....

*tick*
*tock*
*tick*
*tock*

It was driving me insane.

I've never noticed it before...

Why now?

I stood up from my desk wheeled my chair over to the wall. I stood on the black chair and took the clock off the wall and turned it off before returning to my desk. I tapped the papers together and started going over the numbers. I started off okay but the longer I worked the more twisted the papers became. I couldn't read them properly. The world felt like it was spinning while I was perfectly still. My sense of gravity was thrown out of wack and I held myself up with the desk. My forehead had a layer of sweat over It and I felt hot.

Was I sick? But from what?

"Hey, your looking a little pale? You okay?" Pride was standing in the doorway. He almost just walked by. The sound of his voice seemed infuriating. I've never seen it as that before.

"No, Im fine. Just got really dizzy." Pride nodded slowly and hurried off. I kinda want to follow him. So see what he's going to do.

Why am I so curious? Are the other sins in there office? Are they doing something cool? Something energetic? Violent? Ugh! What am I thinking.

I whipped a hand down my face pulling my skin down. Why is skin so elastic? How hard do you have to pull for it to rip? God why can't I shut up!

Lucy quickly entered my office and I could see a few of the sins behind her. She walked up to me and I felt the need to get away. The moment her hand touched my arm I felt the spinning leave. My mind slowed down and I felt a wave of cool air.

"Devin, your hot. What's wrong?" She sounded like a worried mother. I didn't want to talk. I was tired. "Devin? Are you okay?" I nodded in response. She turned the chair so I was facing her. She looked to the sins at the door and told them to leave closing the door behind them.

"I-I'm okay..."

"You don't look okay. Do you have any idea what's going on? Your very pale and warm."

"Maybe I caught the flu." I joked she didn't laugh.

"Devin... you should know not to joke or feed into things like this. It's hard to stop a train that's just been fulled up with coal." I knew what she meant. The through scared me back into reality.

"Sorry. Sorry, I couldn't help myself." I smirked. She frowned and sighed. She let go of my arm and pushed my bangs away from my forehead. She placed the back of her palm in my face and she had to move her hand away after a few seconds.

"Your really hot. You mind if I grab an ice pack?"

"Please make it fast." The moment she took her hand off my face I felt my temperature spike again and the dizziness returned. She noticed this but she took off down the hall sprinting anyways. I felt my heart start to ache.
