It's been a three days since that whole giant mess happened. Things seem to be normal enough. It's been a little weird talking with Lust. I've been trying to act like nothing happened but she seems torn about something every time we talk. I've tried to ignore that as well but I just have this off feeling ever since that night. What happened, I can't remember for the life of me.
The building was in a bit of chaos this morning. I'm not sure what exactly happened and I didn't feel like sticking my head into it. About three minuets after I sat down in my office Lucy walked in holding a stack of files and papers.
"Morning Devin. Could I convince you to run these down to the archives?" She stepped into the room and set them on my desk.
"I suppose I can. That's in the basement right?" I stood up and picked up the stack of paper.
"Yeah. Thanks bud." She left and I stood holding the papers for a moment. I peeked into the top file to see it was a report on someone. Specifically on Death. Curiosity gripped at my mind as I leaned on my desk and singled out the file. I set the others down and opened this one.
'Death: Patient 265
Entry: July 28, XX. Accompanied by Lucifer Heartthorne (released)
Release: N/A
Thanatos Morgan Beeldreff was admitted to the ward for a large wound in his abdomen from a blade 4 inches in width. The wound was to the right of the spine under the ribs. The blade punctured the small intestine and severed many major blood veins and vessels. The wound was unable to be healed and was deemed fatal due to excessive blood loss. Thanatos is still in stable condition but is left in comatose being kept alive by soul strength. A release date can not be given until the patent has woken up.'
Two formal signatures adorned the bottom of the paper. I didn't care to read them as I slid the paper back into the file sighing. I pushed myself from my desk and started towards the Archives. Alone in the elevator again I felt uneasy but ignored the feeling which lifted when the doors opened. The room was darker then most in the building lacking natural light. Dust hung comfortably in the air and the smell of old books floated through my senses. There was a small desk lamp on a large oak desk on the right side of the wall facing the center of the room. A large carpet covered as much of the concrete floor is it could. Bookshelves covered three of the four walls leaving space for three doors one on each wall. The only book-less wall was the one with the elevator. I stepped into the room looking around. It was empty.
"Hello?" I called out as I set the files on the large desk. I heard no reply. I decided to check the three doors the first being the one behind the desk. The handle refused to turn as I felt metal click together. Locked. The one across from the elevator slid open with almost no noise. Inside was a small closet with various tools from a mop to a typewriter to some very hi tech looking cords. I closed the door and moved to the last one. The door clicked open and creaked as I pushed it open. A blue light covered the room and I was taken back buy the size of the computer. The rectangular room was covered wall to wall in computer boxes and cords. There were some other devices I didn't recognize at first glance. On the far wall was a large screen with a large keyboard spanning the length of the screen. Seeing no one in this room ether I closed the door and turned around.
"Anyone down here?" I called out again but got no reply. You would think someone would be down here. It's strange that no one is. I walked to the desk and looked at what was on it. There was an ink well and a few writing feathers as well as some normal pens. There was a stack of books with no title on the cover. I moved around so I was behind the desk and sat in the large chair. I slid open the top left drawer to see more unlabeled books. The right drawer had more pens and inkwells of different color in it. There was also a small glass bottle filled with cloudy white liquid. I picked it up and looked for a label. I didn't see one. I opened the cap and smelled it only to quickly pull away and seal it again. What the hell is poison doing down here. I don't know what this is exactly but the sweet smell has a sickening sent just hidden underneath. I put the vial back in the drawer and closed it standing up. Confident that I was a snooping idiot and that no one was here I walked back to the elevator. When the doors slid open I saw Ark.
