El was back at her therapists. The news was on, they were discussing how bullies can make someone kill themselves. How naive of them. It wasn't just bullies, it was El's own thoughts.Jan opened the door for El, the clock in the waiting room ticked three times before she made her way to the room. Jan shut the door behind them. The smell was different, it was like pine trees. Jan rearranged the office to suit El.
"How are you doing today?" She asked, setting the notepad down. Her laptop was closed.
El sat down on the floor, since the couch was uncomfortable for her. The shoulder length hair of hers was in two French braids. It was hot.
"I had a panic attack two days ago, which is why I didn't come. Josh helped me." El spoke softly, almost in a whisper. The curtains were closed to keep the light from coming inside. The rain outside filled the awkward silence that was left in the room.
"Josh? The boy who-"
"The boy who ruined my plans. But I'll make new ones."
"Like what?"
"Like killing myself; I've said it before and I'll say it again. Love will not stop me, or anything else. One act of kindness will never take away the pain I feel each morning waking up. The screaming I do in the shower. All of the bruises that took weeks to heal. No one can stop me, I'm just here to make it easier for everyone else when I go."
