A few hours later, we were all up and putting everything back together. Daryl and I were helping move the cars back to where they were. When we were finished, the both of us were surprised to see Tara up and about.

"Hey. You shouldn't be out here," Daryl said once we reached her.

"Yeah. You should be resting," I said.

"It's just a scratch. I can help," she said.

"What if it wasn't?" Daryl asked.

"Babe, come on," I said.

"It's okay, Amelia. Well then it would be my own damn fault, Daryl. He's back with them because of me," she said.

"Nah. Like I said earlier, he's back with them cause that's who he is," Daryl retorted.

"We got lucky. Finding Maggie. Rick. It could have been different. It was for me when I was with the Governor," Tara said.

"You weren't one of them though. You never were, Tara," I reminded her.

"But I was with him. You're brother too," she said looking between the both of us.

"My brother? My brother ran the wrong way his whole life. If he were here, if I'd stuck with him when he left, we'd be with the Saviors too. Or some other group just like 'em. But I'd have figured out who they were, just like you did," Daryl said.

He had some good points.

"Maybe that's what happened to Dwight," Tara said.

"Was that before or after he killed your girl? Or is that all square now?" he retorted.

"Whoa. Daryl ease up," I said.

Tara took in a breath.

"It is. Look, I might hate him forever but he saved my life," Tara said.

"No he tried to kill you last night," he said.

"I thought we established the fact that we don't know what that was last night," I said.

"I know what I saw," he said.

"Okay. You know what you saw. I saw that too. But I also saw what he did for us. We can't let that go. At least not yet. Now come on. There's still a lot that needs to be done. Tara, take it easy for the rest of the day," I said.

Daryl went ahead and moved on to the next thing.

"You should be taking it easy too," she said.

"Well, nothing happened to me. And I'm perfectly capable of helping out around here. If Maggie can do it, then so can I. She's kind of my inspiration," I said.

"Yeah. I think she's all of ours. And I'm starting to understand what everyone says about your stubbornness," she said.

"So the word is going around...awesome," I said sarcastically.

"Yeah," she said.

I chuckled.

"Listen...about what Daryl said...about Denise..." I started.

"It's okay. When he's being a dick, it shows that he cares," she said.

"He really does. I have to get some more stuff done. Go on and rest. I'll see you later," I said.

"Okay. Don't strain yourself," she said.

"I won't," I retorted.

I went over to our grave site and saw both Jerry and Eduardo digging some more. Maggie was there along with Dianne, a hell of an archer from the Kingdom.
