"Babe?" Daryl said forcing me to leave my train of thought.

"What?" I said.

"I asked if you needed help packing," he said.

"Oh. Um...well I think I've packed all I could. What do you think?" I said.

"It's up to you. Are you okay?" he asked placing his hand on my cheek and looking me in the eye.

"Yes. I am. I swear, I am," I said pulling him in for another kiss.

"Is there anything that we need to do out there?" I asked once we parted.

"Nah. We siphoned gas from as many cars as we could. We filled up the bus. If they do come here and decide to take a car, they'll be outta luck," he said.

I smiled.

"That's a good move. Your idea?" I asked.

"Yeah," he said.

"Who knew I married such an intelligent man?" I teased.

"Well me falling for you should have been the first hint," he retorted.

"Oh. And he's a comedian as well. Will the surprises ever stop?" I joked again.

"For you, never," he said pulling me closer.

I pressed our foreheads together. The sound of him breathing always calmed me down. I suddenly gasped.

"What is it?" he asked concerned.

"I didn't finish my sandwich. I left it with Charlie but I completely forgot about it," I said.

"Well go on and get it. I don't want you starving," he retorted.

"Okay. I'll be right back," I said kissing him quickly and heading out the door.

"I was about to come and look for you to give you another sandwich," Charlie said when I got to the grill.

"Yeah. Sorry about that. Sort of got carried away," I said.

"Well, I went ahead and made you another one," she said handing me my half eaten sandwich plus another.

"Oh. Thanks Charlie. Sorry about the wait," I said.

"It's okay," she said.

"I'll see you around," I said.

She nodded and then I headed back to the house. I got back to the room and handed Daryl the extra sandwich.

"I'm good," he said when I handed it to him.

"Don't argue. It's been a long day. You deserve to have some more fuel in your body," I said.

"Fine," he said taking the sandwich and giving it one big bite.

I finished the half of my sandwich and placed the plate on a dresser nearby.

"So. Tomorrow, we're sticking together right? No matter what?" I said.

He took another bite of his sandwich then came and placed the rest on the plate. He chewed then swallowed.

"If I didn't have you by my side, I'd freak," he said kissing my forehead.

"What if something happens?" I asked not wanting to share the possibility that we could both not make it out.

"Don't. Nothing's gonna happen. We'll win. I know it," he said.

"How can you be so sure?" I retorted.

"You doubting us? Now?" he asked.

"No...I just...I don't know anymore," I said looking away.
