As we got closer to the house, I saw Tara and Daryl talking. From where I stood, it seemed to be a serious discussion.

"I'll meet you inside, Maggie," I said.

She nodded and went ahead of me.

"So he just gets a pass is that it?" Daryl asked when I got closer.

He was sitting on the bed of a truck next to the house.

"Hey. What's going on?" I asked when I reached them.

"Well. The good news is that I'm not sick. It's been over a day and the doc said that I'm cool," Tara said.

I went up and gave her a hug.

"I knew you'd be fine," I said after we parted.

"From the sound of it, you were getting ready to spill some bad news? Let's hear it," I said.

"Daryl hasn't let go of the whole Dwight situation," she retorted.

"Like I said before, he let a whole day go by while our people laid around dying. He could have sent us a message but he didn't," Daryl said.

"And like I told you, maybe he couldn't. Look, you said that we might need him and we may need him now more than ever and what I'm saying that if I had killed him, maybe I would be dead right now," she said.

I rested my hand on Daryl.

"He could have sent us a message to warn us about all this. Like with the soldier back at Alexandria. But there was a lot going on last night. Maybe Tara is right in the sense that he may not have had the chance to. Either way, we can't do anything about it. At least not right now. Okay? So would you two just please drop this subject? We will deal with him when the time comes okay?" I said looking at the both of them.

They both went quiet.

"I'm really glad you're okay, Tara. I'd be crushed if you weren't," I said.

She nodded and half smiled.

"Thanks. I'll see you two around," she said.

She left Daryl and me alone. I looked over at him then took a seat next to him.

"You okay?" I asked.

"We'll deal with him when the time comes, right?" he asked looking over at me.

"We will. We had a deal remember?" I said.

He bit at his lower lip and nodded. I kissed him.

"Now come on. Maggie wants to plan what the next steps will be," I said getting off the truck.

I grabbed his hand and led him into the house. We got to Maggie's office where Rosita and Dianne were discussing what was done.

"If the Saviors are coming back, we'll have ten maybe fifteen minutes heads-up," Rosita said.

"The relay cars?" I asked after entering.

She looked over at me and nodded. Daryl shut the door.

"And our ammo?" Maggie asked.

"About what we thought. Not enough to fend off another attack of that size," Dianne said.

"Well maybe we don't gotta worry about that no more," Daryl said.

I looked over at him and knew where he was headed.

"They burned through a lot of bullets to get those walkers away back at Sanctuary. They've gotta be low on ammo right now," I said.
