17 year old Renata García Moctezuma moved from Mexico to Forks.
She is not a normal human, but rather a shaman to her people, the one of the last groups of Itzá people in Mexico.
In Forks, she meets a variety of people and supernatural creatures...
"And this is your room" Carlisle told Renata as he showed her to a room in the first store of the house, the walls were actually windows to the forest behind.
"Wow, Carlisle- this is- it's bigger than my own house" Renata said admiring the long room.
"The bathroom and wardrobe are on the far end of the room, you have windows there too, but they reflect the outside. Meaning you can see what happens outside but no one can see to the inside" Esme told her, practically dragging Renata to the bathroom to show how she had designed the room.
"Esme, you didn't have to do all of this for me, I would've been happy with a small room and shower" Renata said as she admired the bathroom, she found it a little too much.

"None sense, Renata. You are part of this family so, as for everyone else, I took it to design the best room that would suit you" Esme said sternly to the girl.
Renata knew Carlisle and Esme from when she was younger. After her father was turned, he escaped and met the couple in Alaska and they helped him become "vegetarian" and control his impulses. Carlisle offered him a place in his coven but he refused, saying that when the vampires attacked his people, many were turned and they had no choice but to kill them, but he could show them another way, a solution. And so he started his own coven and found a mate, much to his family's dismay, but they understood.
"She smells like the dogs" she heard Alice tell Jasper, "with a smudge of cat-like odour"
"At least that way I don't have to restrain myself from smelling her blood" Jasper answered. She knew Jasper was quite new in this vegetarian thing.
"I might smell like dog, but I don't smell like I just burnt a body, Alice" Renata said and heard Rosalie, Emmet and Jasper chuckle, "Where is Edward, Carlisle?" Renata asked the immortal man.
"With his girlfriend" Emmet said and Renata raised her eyebrows and almost choked on the water she was drinking.
"I didn't see that coming" Renata said and they laughed.
"He'll be home soon. We had a problem and she got hurt" Carlisle explained.
"Wait, she's human?"
"Yes" Rosalie said with a sneer.
"That is messed up. Does she know?" Renata asked.
"Yes, she knows about us but she doesn't know about you or the shapeshifters" Esme told her and she nodded, "we'll leave you to unpack and rest" she said and rushed everyone out of her room and closed the door behind them.
Renata looked around her room, it was really beautiful. She knew her brothers would have loved it. René loved to be out in the open and Rodrigo had always wanted to meet other shapeshifters. The thought of her brothers made her sad. She missed them as if part of herself had died with them. She remembered the day of their birthday, it had began as the happiest day of their lives, they would be finally be given their tattoos that branded them as official members of the Akbal prowl.
