Hey guys! Wish me luck because I'm writing this instead of an essay due tomorrow!
Renata stayed at Emily's the next day, trying to figure out a plan to help Leah. The boys left for school right after breakfast. Renata didn't feel like staying all day at the house, but she didn't really have anywhere to go.
From: Carlisle
Please come, there's something we have to talk about
-CarlisleUnfortunately, Renata knew what they wanted to talk about, given everything that happened the night before. She sighed and went to her room, her bed was undone and there were a pair of shorts laying in the floor. She shook her head and went to the closet. Yoga pants and a hoodie? Yes sir. She brushed her hair, or Rosalie would have a heart attack at the rat's nest she had in her head. Renata weighed if she should go running or in Paul's truck. Honestly, Renata was scared, she was scared if she went running again, she might want to go to the mountains again.
To: Paul
Can I borrow your truck? And, did you sleep in my bed?
-RWithout waiting for Paul to answer, Renata grabbed the keys and walked to the the truck. Renata drummed her fingers in the wheel to the beat of the music. She was completely off rythm. Mamá tiene razón, de música me muero de hambre, Renata thought, chucking at the thought of her trying to do music. A big no no. Renata hummed quietly as she passed through town, she waved at Charlie Swan, who was expending a ticket to a tough looking dude in a motorcycle. Chief Swan smiled and waved shortly at Renata. He was aware of the events at school the day before and while he did not approve of how she reacted, he knew her actions came from a good place.
Renata pulled over at the Cullen's driveway and was received by an ashamed looking Jasper. Renata smiled at him, relieved to see he was okay. She walked up to him and put her arms around his neck and held him tight. Jasper slowly put his arms around her.
"¿Cómo estás? How are you feeling? When I left you were in such a bad shape... I hope I didn't hurt you when I restrained you" Renata asked worriedly. Jasper pulled apart from the hug and looked at her quizzically, from any other person, it could have sound like mockery, but Jasper knew Renata was sincerely worried and concerned about him, there were no negative emotions coming from her.
"Renata, you should be the last person that should be asking me this... I- I'm sorry" Jasper said with a grey tone, he lowered his head in shame, almost waiting for her to snap at him.
"Hey, I still have my arm, don't I?" Renata smiled and hit him playfully in his shoulder, "c'mon, let's go inside" Renata grabbed his arm and pulled him along inside the house.
Once inside, Renata's cheerful mood instantly came down. She could feel the tension in the air, it was so thick it could be cut with a spoon. A spoon. Renata felt Jasper's calming waves spreading through the whole room, and everyone's postures relaxed. Renata had an idea what they wanted to talk about, but they were all so serious and stoic that she was not so sure noe.
"Parece que alguien se murió" Renata commented. Everyone seemed to unfreeze when they heard her voice.
"How are you feeling, munchkin?" Emmet went to her and wrapped her on a massive bear hug.
"Well, by the faces you all have, much better than you" Renata told him, poking his stomach with her fingers.
"We went through what happened yesterday, Renata" Carlisle started, but Esme put a hand on his arm, and she approached Renata. Esme took Renata's hands in hers and pulled her softly to the couch, and sat down with her.
"First of all, we want to let you know that we love you, and you're part of this family, no matter what. We will give you a choice, and we will support you no matter what you chose" Esme told her softly.
