The next day I avoided Cameron and John call and surprisingly I spent my day with Aaron.
I didn't plan to honestly I was sitting down in the couch watching tv when Aaron called. He told me he was bored and if I wanted to do something I hesitate but I said yes and gave him my address so he could come over. He showed up not short after and we both decided to watch what I was watching before and that just happened to be Friends.
"Would you go out with a friend you know for a really long time?" Aaron asked me while we saw Rachel and Ross kissing.
"Depends if I like them or not," I answered honestly. Aaron stayed quiet and I didn't even question it.
Soon the pizza we ordered came and we ate quietly, maybe talked here and there but it was nice to just sit and relax.
"Are you nervous about the race?" Aaron asked me and I nodded not going to lie. Then I explained to Aaron about my encounter with the Ranger. He freaked out more than Cameron, but cooled down after a while telling me to be careful and practically begging me to let him win just so I wouldn't get hurt.
"Why did you drop out?" I finally asked a question I wanted an answer to. He looked surprised of the change of subject but was quickly covered by a blank looked.
"I didn't want to race," his was deeper than normal and for some reason I knew he was lying.
I didn't question further and continue to eat my pizza. The comfortable silence became an awkward one which I decided to change.
I wanted to make friendly conversation so when I started to think about what to say to break the ice I had no control to when I said. "Your lips are familiar."
Then I realize what I've done, I didn't break any ice that was for sure. If anything I made things more awkward.
Surprisingly Aaron laughed, I didn't know why what I said didn't intend to be a joke. But being around Aaron remind me that he kissed me, that we have kissed and I can't get that out of my mind.
"What exactly do they remind you of?" He asked smirking. I realize he didn't know what I was talking about so I decided this is a good time to fix my mistakes. Of course my brain decided to go against this.
"I mean when you kissed me - in the river, your lips felt familiar," his smirked disappeared and his blank expression replace it once again but this time he was more stiff.
It was probably because I brought it up.
"I need to go," he swallowed as he put the pizza down and got up. Disappointment suddenly hit me as I got up to but I didn't say anything cause I knew if I did it will be another stupid thing.
When he opened the door to walk out there was a woman going through her bag. My mom was clearly trying to find her keys as she looked up and gasp when she saw Aaron who looked shocked and scared too.
"Aaron?" My mother said and this time it was me who was surprised.
"You know each other?" My voice spoke up.
My mom and Aaron looked over me and then at each other again like if they were talking to each other through their looks.
"Your mom knows my mom so we've been introduced," what Aaron said seemed believable but the feeling in my gut was telling me again that Aaron was lying.
"You guys know each other?" My mom asked looking at me.
"No I kidnapped him and he tried to get away so thanks for stopping him mom," I said in a serious voice but my mom rolled her eyes.
"I need to go now, it's nice seeing you again Amanda's mom, see you tomorrow Amanda," Aaron shot at me as my mom moved out his way to let him through. My mom finally walked inside the house and I was going to question her but once again my brain took over me and this time it led me to run after Aaron.
"Wait," I spoke as Aaron stopped and turned around. "Look I'm sorry I brought the kiss up, it just came out of my mouth, I know we said it was a mistake and I just wasn't thinking," I rambled.
Aaron blank expression didn't change he just stared at me which made me feel stupid for running after him, it seemed worthless.
"I would do it again in a heartbeat," he said which made me frown.
"Run away from me?" I asked honestly hurt.
"No," he chuckled a smile growing in his face which made my frown go away. "Kiss you," he added.
My eyes grew wide as I didn't know what to say next.
"You said they seemed familiar?" He question as I nodded.
I knew I couldn't speak as I was still in shock but I got a few words out of my mouth. "I can't fix the puzzle."
I knew it sounded confusing but it made sense in my mind.
"Maybe I could help," I frowned again at his words and he didn't give me a chance to reply as he graved my waist and pulled me closer to him and crashed his lips on mine.
Unlike John, unlike Cameron, I felt something as Aaron's lips were on mine. I didn't know why Aaron and not someone else I was more close to but unlike them I didn't want to pull away instead I pulled him closer as I kissed him back feeling him smile against my lips.
It was him who pulled away, a huge grin in his face while I was tried to catch my breath and capture what just happened.
"Bye princess," he whispered as he put on his helmet and got on his bike driving away leaving me startle.
