chapter 10

Lance

Lance ran to class as soon as the bell rang. He had to keep his mask on,hide the truth. Hide his talent. Like he said,there couldnt be 3 smart ones in the group. There had to be a dumb one.

Pidge and Hunk were smart,he couldnt take that away from them. With that thought,he sat down at his assigned desk. He didnt pay attention to the lesson,he didnt need to anyway. So,he dayDreamed.

The teacher walked in,but this time it wasnt Mrs.Hodges,it was a tall man with black hair that had a white tuft falling in his face,tons of muscles and a scar on his nose. Who is this guy?  Lance thought.

The strange man began to speak "Hello,I am Takashi Shirogane,but you may call me Shiro. I will be your new teacher for the rest of the year"

'That name sounds familiar' Lance thiught again,and he certainly did. Hunk seemed to be thinking the same exact thing cuz he looked deep in thought.

The man looked right at Lance and Hunk,making Lance feel uneasy. 'Why is he staring at me!? Did I do something wrong!?' Lance panicked,Hunk must have noticed cuz the taller boy put a conforting hand on the cubans shoulder.

Lance relaxed,but only a small bit. He still felt uneasy about this new teacher. "Now,please open your textbooks to page 250" (im sorry Newt fans) Lance pulled his book out of his messenger bag,flipping to the right place. The top of the page said biology.To Lance,that was easy.

He began to read it. After 30 minutes,they put them away for the test that they had been studying for. Lance pretended to groan with the class.

Once again,the questions were easy. Lance made sure to get plenty wrong so no one would be suspicious of him.

He made sure to get a 50%,since he was supposed to be dumb. When Shiro graded his paper,he had a grim expression on his face. 'Weird' A voice in Lances head said. 'Yeah' he silently agreed

He couldnt believe he was talking to a voice in his head. Thats crazy! He scolded himself.

To distract himself,Lance messed with a bracelet on his wrist. It kept him calm for some reason,he didnt know why exactly.

With a sigh he looked at the clock only 20 minutes left lance,you'll survive.

When the bell rang,Lance sprang out of his seat,but he couldn't leave before Shiro spoke up "Lance,I want to talk to you"

This caused the Cuban to huff in annoyance,walking vack to the desk he tried to be friendly "yes sir?"

Shiro stood up "Lance,I know your a very smart boy-" wait...how'd he know? "And i wanted to know why your purposely got a 50"

'Crap hes onto me!' Lance decided not to show his panic "what!? Thats crazy Shiro!" Shiro didnt look convinced "Lance I want you to try next time okay? I know your capable of it"

Lance nodded,"y-yes sir" before leaving. 'HE KNOWS' The voice screamed,"shut up" he hissed,not knowing he said it allowed.

Pidge and Hunk looked very confuzzled. "What?" Pidge tilted her head to the side. "Nothing!" Lance quickly yelled. Hunk looked even more confuzzled and Pidge didnt believe him "uh...okay?" Hunk questioned.

"Gotta go!" Lance ran off,leaving two confused friends behind. "Whats up with that boy?" Pidge sighed.
