You stood on your side of the concrete and waited for Midnight to count down, getting ready to muster up what energy you could for this fight. You knew it would be hard, you'd have to somehow be able to protect yourself from all angles, which would take a LOT of energy when you were already running fairly low.

It seemed to happen slower than the last time, and suddenly Dark Shadow was nearing you. You mustered up all the energy you could and surrounded yourself with it. You'd have to get close fast and stop his quirk if you wanted to have any chance at all. You launched yourself forward, trying to somehow avoid Dark Shadow as much as possible on the way, but Dark Shadow was faster than you were.

You formed an energy rod again, wincing at the feeling of your legs weakening as you ran. Dark Shadow closed the gap between you and you came to a halt, trying to go around him to near Tokoyami, but he was already going to work on your shield and you felt it breaking down around you.

You clashed your rod with him and knocked him backwards a couple times, but not far enough to give you room to run towards Tokoyami again. Before you knew it, your rod was gone and you were defenseless, only able to muster up small energy balls which hardly seemed to do anything against Dark Shadow.

Your body was tired and sore, pain was rushing through all your limbs as they all screamed at you to give up and rest. Your shields had taken way too much energy out of you, and Dark Shadow was too strong for you to fight hand to hand combat with. Suddenly, you were on the ground and Midnight called off the match, announcing Tokoyami as the winner.

Tokoyami walked over to you and helped you up as Dark Shadow disappeared. You reached up and grasped his hand, smiling through the pain and ragged breathing. "Dark Shadow is so strong Tokoyami! I guess I just have to learn how to muster up more energy, huh?" You slowly stood up and he let you wrap your arm around his neck and he nodded, commenting on how you put up a good fight. "I can walk by myself now Tokoyami, thank you and good luck on your next match!" He nodded and you let go of him and grabbed the wall of the hallway for support.

As you slowly made your way down the hallway to the stairs to find Recovery Girl's office, you heard Katsuki's battle with Kirishima start and you wondered what was happening and considered skipping Recovery girl's office to go and watch the match, but just as your cramping body began heading the other way, you heard someone walking towards you.

"Akemi?" You felt a arm wrap around your waist and hold you upright so you weren't leaning on the wall anymore and you turned your head to meet a pair of heterochromic eyes. "Where are you going? You should go to Recovery Girl, I'll help you." "O-oh, Todoroki... I'm okay really, I promise."

You found yourself wondering how it would feel if Bakugo held you like that instead, how your heart would have started beating faster with his arm around you. Even though Todoroki's grip was comforting and it felt nice to not be alone, he just didn't make your heart race like Bakugo, he didn't make your face and heart warm in the same way. "What do you mean? You collapsed and you can hardly walk. If I don't make you, somebody else will." He said and you nodded slowly, knowing your dad was already angry enough at you.

He took your arm and rested it on the back of his neck and put his arm back around your waist and you walked silently along beside him. It felt a little silly, I mean it was just a sports festival really and you were limping alongside one of your classmates feeling as if you could pass out "At least I really gave it my all I guess!" You chuckled lightheartedly and Todoroki looked down at you momentarily.
