"Do you have everything?" Her mum asked, knitting her arms across her chest as she tapped her foot nervously.

"Yes mum" Jane groaned in reply while zipping up her third suitcase.

"Passport?",

"Yes",

"Phone?",

"Obviously",

"New school uniform" at those words, Jane froze.

"So you didn't have everything?" Her mum chastised, already making her feel worse than she already was. As Jane retrieved the revealing school uniform, she internally cringed. She was used to baggy blazers, ties, tights and knee-length skirts. Nothing like what was in her hand. And that wasn't the worst of it. She was going to Japan. Ghouls there were ruthless and their CCG is the only ones to have daily reports and investigations.

"I mean, look at this mum. You wouldn't let me wear this to a party let alone school" Jane exclaimed, shaking the uniform hanging from the hook. However, He mum didn't care, instead she pushed her to pack it inside and get ready. They were in fact leaving for the airport in an hour.

"Are you sure you want to go?-" Her dad asks while holding him to her chest, his voice is soft as his chin rests on her crown, "- I could always call Amber and say you can't make it" he continues.

"I'm going to be fine" Jane reassures once she pulls away. When she does so, Kyle Fraser drinks in every feature making up his daughter. How her brown-haired bob frames her jaw and the way her fringe hides her hazel eyes. She was an image of his wife, as well as her sister.

When she separated from her parents, going through security with her small, carry-on bag. She waited patiently in Heathrow airport before a voice came through the speakers.

"Good morning passengers. This is the pre-boarding announcement for flight 95B to Tokyo. We are now inviting those passengers with small children, and any passengers requiring special assistance, to begin boarding at this time. Please have your boarding pass and identification ready. Regular boarding will begin in approximately ten minutes time. Thank you".

Reluctantly, with her grip tightening around her bag strap, she pushed forward with her steps moulding into the chatter and clanking of glasses. Jane's heart was only jumping further as she boarded. And hardly was their anyone on the plane. The majority were Japanese with her being one out of the three going.

She became settled next to a foreign couple who were laughing and speaking in the language Jane was so reluctant to speak. Learning such things weren't really her speciality, but she didn't want to seem like an idiot when she arrived, behind everybody on her first day.

The safety announcement was a blur to Jane as she had flown before. Yet, her palms couldn't help but sweat and her breaths were for some reason, heavier than normal. Her whole life was going to change in approximately eleven hours. And there was nothing she could do to stop it. Therefore, she could only grip the arms of her seat tighter as they began their departure from land. In the first few minutes of the flight, she genuinely was confused in how her sister convinced her to spend a whole year in the most dangerous country in the world. Seriously, the girl then wondered if her sister was crazy.

"Are you... Alright?" An Asian woman asked, her accent heavy as she checked on the young girl beside her.

"Uh... I'm fine, totally cool" she answered in reply with a strained smile, only to have the woman's husband -or boyfriend- burst into laughter.

"Do not worry. It won't be so bad" he interrupts, reassuring Jane in the process.

"I wish that made me feel any better" she chuckled,

"We are from the first Ward, what about you?",

"The fourth", after these words escaped her lips, she knew something was wrong. The couple stiffened and looked at each other with wide eyes.
"Is there a problem with that Ward?" Jane continued to ask with her anxiety bubbling in her gut.

However, unlike expected, the woman hits her partner in the chest and curls her lips upward.

"No, you'll be alright".

For the rest of the flight, the three talk on and off before Jane opts to nap in her seat. Despite her fear of change, she was pushing through this. She just wishes it wouldn't be so extreme.
