Weeks had gone by without Jane seeing Uta. Every night her thoughts wandered with what she did wrong, was it the kiss on the cheek? The fact she hanged onto his arm? Whatever she had done, Jane had somehow driven him away. Every night, even if it seemed strange, she would close her eyes and strain her ears, just hoping to hear his voice amongst the darkness. She felt her whole body push for a clue of him. Not having his number or address only heightened her anxiety. She was a complete and total wreck over a guy. Of course, Jane wouldn't he like this back home. Never would she imagine someone like Uta would grant her the time of day. However, it had happened and even a taste of it had her falling.

Meanwhile, Uta was bored out of his mind. And as he leaned back in his seat, his subordinates were becoming rowdy. Their laughter devoured the room while the blonde ghoul thought. He hadn't seen Jane in four weeks, that was over a month and still... Uta couldn't extinguish her from his mind.

"From your state I'm guessing you didn't follow my advice and eat the human girl" Yomo announced before falling onto the sofa beside him. With the reminder, Uta groaned deeply, acquiring the attention of the ghouls around him. Yet, with a pointed glare they were forced back into their chatter.

"I've never seen you this worked up" Yomo continued,

"Couldn't lay even a finger on her" Uta sighed, then taking his head in his hands.

"Then I don't recommend meeting her again",

"I suppose..." and with that short lived conversation, Uta returned his eyes to the crowd of ghouls. How they spoke and downed alcohol laced with blood.

While he looked over them all, knowing they looked up to him for strength. He found that fact ironic. He was -after all- at the mercy of a frail, human girl. She barely reached his chin but she still managed to have him wrapped around her finger.

"What am I going to do with you?" He wondered aloud. Of course with her in mind.

"Seriously! You've heard nothing?" Yui asked with a concerned expression. Her whole idea of love-at-first-sight was slowly crumbling before her.

"Not one thing. I think I did something wrong. I did kiss him. Is that okay here? I thought you guys are not good with PDA",

"You kissed him? When were we going to here about this?",

"You mean, when were you going to hear about it" Akira interrupted, with a knowing smirk curling at her lips.

"Come on~" Yui moaned like a child, "-I thought we were best friends",

"We are, we are. It's... It was just an innocent kiss on the cheek. That's all" Jane mumbled, going bright red in the process.

"I understand. But maybe he's not looking for that-" Akira added, giving her own advice which was normally the most rational, "- Maybe he just wanted an innocent friendship".

And with that, the bell sounded for another lesson. Throughout class, Jane attempted to concentrate with little success. Akira's words were playing on her mind making her assume she took a step too far with Uta. However, the way he looked at her made her think otherwise. Everything was a jumble and a mess. Her whole world seemed to change in the time span of an instant, nothing could break the ever-changing norms of her life. Too much was too fast and Jane wasn't able to keep up.

She was already at the school entrance gate when she snapped back to reality. Her head was spinning and her vision had a fog cast over its view. This wasn't something random. This was because of the boy leaning against the wall, with his arms crossed against his chest and his aura intimidating.

Internally, Jane was contemplating the two options open to her. A few metres away was the staff car park where Amber would be waiting, and right before her... Was the mystery. The thing she had desired to see and had lusted over. It was such a sin, to keep her mind awake with growing thoughts of Uta. Jane couldn't, she would have to refuse the alluring temptation. It was no good, a month without word was despicable, disrespectful, unthoughtful and uncaring...

Yet, with the sound of his voice. Her reluctance blew away.

"It's nice to see you again... Jane".
