Uta leaned back in his chair, his head thrown back to see the warehouse from a different perspective. His mind was occupied, unable to see the mistake. He had specifically told those under him to keep a low profile, not massacre a whole group of people, leaving one witness at that. With the thought, he sighed deeply before blood-curdling screams were heard from the back. Eventually, he would have to return to the sobbing girl who was sprawled across the dirt covered floor, with her blood creating the sweetest aroma. However, not yet as sweet as Jane.
While he watched the girl whimpering on the floor with her body stained with crimson, he saw his reflection through the broken window behind her. His kakugan was on full display, heightening his sight immensely. He didn't have to hide anymore, but he did around Jane, he had to.
"P-please don't... Hurt m-me" the girl hiccuped, her body shaking violently as she looked up at him. And Uta knew he should've felt some sort of remorse, yet he couldn't help but crack a grin against his fair features.
"Shh sh sh-" he began to silence her, crouching down beside her trembling form in the process, "- I don't want to hurt you... But-"... She looks like Jane. At the thought, his eyes widened like his smile. "- Wait here!" He cheered before running out of the room, leaving her to whisper into the concrete ground. The girl's body was already consumed with a white heat of pain while her eyes fixated on the pool of blood expanding around her.
"Found it!" He exclaimed with his return, snipping the scissors in his hand with an unreadable glint in his eyes.
At first, the wounded girl believed he would cut her fingers off (maybe even her toes) just to have them as a small snack stored away. However, that was not the case. Instead, Uta pulled a random chair from the corner of the room and plopped her inside it. She was barely able to keep herself straight, yet she managed to do so out of fear. Then... Snip. The ghoul began cutting at her hair silently. Each cut was jagged and messy and terribly short. The girl once had hair down to her hips but now, it was all gone.
"Look how pretty you are now!" He sighed out with his lips close to her ear. She could feel his hot breath invading her body, his whole being crawling against her tattered and torn skin.
"And now your name is..... Jane".⦿
"No! That looks stupid" Jane whined as she kicked her legs onto her bed sheets. With each whack, she could hear the soft aftermath of the cover, how it felt subtle in its sound. Right this moment, she was looking at the dresses online, trying to gather enough courage to ask Uta to go out, show her around the area next Saturday.
"I can't believe I actually convinced myself in doing this",
"Doing what?" With the sudden voice, Jane screamed with the throw of her phone.
She looked over to the door to see Akira. Surprisingly, Jane saw the girl and pulled her in before her sister could interrupt.
"What's going on?" Akira asked, her eyes flickering around in confusion.
"Okay... I need fashion advice" Jane explained,
"And you're asking me this?",
"Well, you're here",
"But, what about Miss Fraser? Couldn't she be of some assistance" Akira wondered before Jane collapsed back onto her bed.
"Akira... What if I told you she knows about... Him but she won't let me go out with him",
"It's only been a week and you've only seen him twice. Give it time Jane" she advised, giving valid input as Jane groaned back into her pillow. Akira did in fact have a point. And because of this, Jane turned off her phone and asked her closed off friend about her time out, even if it was cut short.
As they spoke of Yui -who obviously had to break sprain her ankle walking down the stairs- Akira managed to also fill Jane in on the fun times prior to the incident. And every once in a while her friend's lips would curl into an unexpected smile, it was sweet and small yet it was there nevertheless. Think of it, Jane could always imagine Akira in a friendship and never a romantic relationship, it just didn't seem like what the cold girl wanted. Therefore, she knew her reasoning was reliable but, could that advise only spur from Akira's lack of experience?
She thought maybe Yui could help. She did in fact always have a boy to talk about. However, this wasn't any boy, this was Uta.
