"Oh I'm sorry" a girl with long caramel hair apologised. Her bags were heavy against her leg while she waited at the entrance of Haneda airport. She hadn't been to Japan in eight years, forgetting her weeks in the fourth Ward proved difficult until she was clean of all memory of the monstrous ghoul. Jane had met salvation in a white room of numbness.

"Do not worry" the mother smiled before returning to her child.

Before Jane could continue the conversation, the familiar voice of Amber filtered through the indistinct chatter surrounding.

"Jane!" She exclaimed while waving through the crowds. Unlike before however, Jane refused the hug which Amber was hesitant to give. The older sister had heard of the strange habit adopted by her younger sister. The cute, bubbly girl was only a shell of what she used to be. Jane was more distant than before and Amber could only guess what happened while she remained in Japan. 

Being the person she was of course she was boiling to know, to have Jane say anything that would grant her closure. But, never would she expect the now quiet girl to speak to her.

Despite not going there, Amber had heard of her sister's rehabilitation. How she would just lay on her side, numb to the senses which connected her to the outside world.

"How about we get back to apartment?" Amber asked with a soft smile before Jane slowly pushed past her.

Jane's strawberry blonde locks were beautiful as they jumped against her back, attracting the most attention from the people surrounding. It was as if they had never seen anything her, like she was an alien to everything they knew. Yet, that obviously wasn't the case. But, that didn't stop Amber's sister from attempting to seem smaller. Her shoulders seemed to round and her posture slouched as she continued onward to the black car.

"Tonight I'm going to meet a friend, would you want to come?" Amber asked as she gestured for Jane to zip up her red dress.

"I don't see the point" she mumbled in reply,

"The point is getting out there. I know it's going to be a long time before you can catch up with Yui and Akira. And I would rather feel like you have a choice than be forced to drag you along" Amber spoke,

"Yes, because I need to be babysat. I'm a twenty-three year old woman",

"With this attitude you are far from that" Amber snapped, causing Jane to flinch as she sat upon the sofa.

Therefore, Amber drunk down a clean breath to clear her frustration before releasing her racing concerns which plagued her mind.

"Look, you're coming with me, want it or not" Amber said firmly as she knitted her arms across her chest. Hence, Jane raised from the seat with a frustrated huff to change out of her pyjamas.

In its stead a white maxi dress covered her fair skin with a cropped denim jacket shielding her shoulders. Jane was more reserved in this aspect of her life, making sure to hardly reveal any of her body, it seemed to Amber that she no longer had her usual confidence.

As they walked further through the lit up streets of the fourteenth Ward, Jane grew more restless as Amber approached a dark ally with one sign as they only trace of light. Before the entrance of the shadows, Jane froze in fright. For a moment, the older sibling was frustrated until she turned to see the pure fright coating her sister's features. Never had she seen someone so stricken with terror. And she couldn't hold her and tell her everything would be alright, she just had to convince Jane to move forward.

"Nothing will happen, I'm here" Amber reassured, not knowing that didn't help her at all. However, she gulped down her fear for her sister's sake and reluctantly put one foot after another.

Today wasn't going to change her life. Not like it did before. However, it wouldn't bring back the past, but it would reverse all Jane had achieved.
