"Here we are" Jane announced before bouncing on her feet to face him. However, when she noticed his uncomfortable body language hidden under a cool façade, her smile dwindled. "Are you sure you're okay doing this?" She continued to question, with her head cocking to the side to try attain a glimpse of his eyes.

"Yeah, I'm good" he smirked in reply,

"Great, I'll see you tomorrow morning then?",

"Tomorrow morning it is".

When Jane watched Uta turn away, with his blonde hair swaying subtly under the Alice band, she suddenly felt an elbow nudge at her side suggestively.

"Stop it Yui!" She giggled aloud, pushing her slightly as they walked through the school gate. Side by side they made their way toward Akira, the quietest of the three. With her long black hair, she hid behind it like a curtain of comfort. Yet, that didn't stop her from befriending Jane.

"So who was that? Was it the guy who saved you the the train?-" Jane flushed a deep red, "- oh my God! It is! Did you see him Akira?-" Yui jumped, "- He was so tall, not to mention hot".

"I bet he's a delinquent, did you see his hair?" Akira groaned,

"What's wrong with blonde hair? I'm not naturally brunette", at her surprising words, both the girls turned with shocked expressions.

"What were you originally?",

Jane then pulled out her phone, with the plain pastel case protecting the champagne colour. And while shifting through the pictures, the girls looked at the photos she had taken up London, such as parliament, Covent Garden and the London Eye.  Eventually, they did come across an old photo of thirteen year-old Jane with straight locks of caramel hair.

"Why did you dye it! It was so pretty!" Yui whined in her reaction, with her arms knitting tightly across her chest.

"I don't know, I guess I wanted a change from the usual" Jane spoke up with a smile before putting on her slippers and slinging her bag around her shoulder.

"How was school today?" Amber asked as she placed down their dinner plates. For that Friday she had cooked especially for Jane, to celebrate her fitting in at school. It's sounded lame, but their parents even did it for Amber when she brought over her first boyfriend.

"It was fine, like always Akira and Yui are polar opposites-" they both chuckled, "- and... I met a boy" she then mumbled out to suddenly hear the clatter of mental against the plate. Jane looked up to see her sister frozen, in a gobsmacked expression.

"You met a boy!" Amber exclaimed with a squeal.

But, before the younger of the two could continue, the voice of the news reporter filled their ears.

"Breaking news, another mass killing has taken place. Police report that the site will be closed off for CCG investigation due to ghoul saliva being detected on the deceased bodies. Students have been advised to take another route to the schools following this message".

With the woman's calm demeanour, all Jane could do was stare at the blue and red glittering across the screen, presenting everything as calm and collected. Yet, when the scene of the crime was brought to the silver screen, she was made to watch as a girl whimpered in the back of the ambulance. She was the white noise of the interview, but Jane's eyes were fixed on her. Her face was smeared with blood with streaks of crimson staining her short, black strands. The girl was shaking like she was trapped in a blanket of winter and her black orbs... They held a fear that shook her to the core.

"That boy... I would rather you keep at home. Is that okay?" Amber asked to break the silence between her and her sibling.

For a moment, Jane's stomach dropped. She had just met Uta only to have ghouls ruin her chance in going out with him after school. Therefore, with the image of the traumatised woman sitting in the back of the ambulance, she bobbed her head in agreement before continuing to eat her food.

For the rest of the night, Jane sat at her at her desk chair, staring at the ceiling as she swung around in a constant circle, never seeming to grow dizzy. Instead, the light of the moon and the street lamps flittered across the white paint, casting an array of colours across the plain canvas of the wall. Her mind was empty to the next day, a Saturday where Yui and Akira would be staying in Kyoto. And already, was her mind drawn back to him.
