Jane kept herself under the safety of her sheets due to the consistent shaking of her form. Again and again, she saw him and the man laying motionless at his feet. Without witnessing the scene from all angles she felt as if she could while she laid in her bed.

Jane could feel the cold shivers caused by the faint breeze and still smell the potent aroma of death, rot and blood. It held an iron tang that would forever be in the fore-fronts of her mind. She knew she wouldn't sleep, he had murdered it, the innocent sleep. And forever would she be haunted by this boy, by this monster, by the person she believed to love. Uta...

"Die!" Uta constantly screamed as he brought his foot down again and again. Beneath him, the mutilated body of a teenage, school girl was being stomped on with a blind rage. It was roaring at his chest as he saw her face before him.

"P-pl... Please" the girl managed to croak out but-

"That isn't good enough!" He proceeded with a screech that wracked at his followers souls. They had to watch on while the young girl was tortured under the wrath of their leader.

What echoed through the warehouse was painful for the ears of each ghoul that stood behind Uta. For hours they had to watch him toy with the girl, cut at her brown locks and bite any open flesh against her school uniform. Her thighs and arms were drenched with blood and under her white shirt, with the words written out in the deepest crimson... Were the English letters J-A-N-E.

"Uta, don't you think she's had enough?" Yomo questioned to finally make Uta break away from the girl. She was practically wheezing against the dirt covered floor.

"Did Jane think this morning was enough?" Uta said with a lowered voice once he approached Yomo.

"Listen, I know earlier was a bit much. But think about her, Jane saw you eating-",

"That doesn't mean I'm a monster!" He suddenly exclaimed before turning immediately to kick the young girl in the neck, finally granting her mercy.

"Yes, because this is humane". And with that, Yomo pushed past the groups of ghouls swarming around his friend.

Uta could instantly feel the stares of his subordinate's baring down on him like a red, hot heat. However, all that was left in the air once his kagune was released and already ghouls were running.

He could marvel at the power he had since he ate. Nothing was holding back his distorted morale beside her memory which he could soon extinguish. Jane was after all, a small flame which sat behind his sadistic thoughts. Behind the mask of blood was a human girl smiling, laughing and whimpering under his light touches. He would be forced to forget yet, hardly did he fret.

With his daze dispelled, Uta returned to the mask shop with a nonchalance which radiated off his indifferent posture. He couldn't be asked with the mundane lives surrounding him, especially with the one laying in apartment C15. That's where Jane was still rehabilitating after her traumatic encounter.

It would take her sister hours to return and she couldn't wait until she did. To make herself busy, Jane began to pack frantically until her wardrobes were bare of all fabric and the only thing standing before her was the placid room full with lack of identity. No posters of Florence + The machine, no bohemian bedding or crazy colours decorating the walls. In a month she made home and in a day... It was wiped from the white scene. She was stark of any joy, her face stoic from the moment's replay haunting her memory. This was all for the better... It couldn't be any less.

Jane sat on her bed with her phone in hand, her dad's number fractions from the pad of her thumb. She was shaking vigorously with the thought of separation. However, she pressed down anyway to instantly have the ringing echo against her ear drum.

"Jane... What's wrong?" Her dad asked before she finally burst into tears.

"Daddy-" she whimpered, "- can I come home now?".
