"Three nights sleeping away from you made me realize just how loud you are at night, Valt."
Valt's sleepy face stays pressed against his fluffy white pillow. You hovered above him, staring at him, completely defeated. You've been trying for the past twenty minutes to wake him up but to no avail. You knew your owner has a nasty habit of being a deep sleeper, and ever since you've gotten your own room, his snores became a thing of the past. . .until now.
You two didn't share the bed, you know better than that since Valt constantly moves around in his sleep. You shared with Nika since she had a few nightmares, and even from all the way there, you could hear his loud snores from across the room.
You had already gotten the twins up from their slumber. All you had to do was wake up Valt himself—who infamously sleeps like a log. He also sleeps as though a car ran him over.
His headband was off to the ground, making his short blue hair sticking up in an unruly manner. His arms and legs were sprawled all over the white mattress and his white sheets were hanging off the edge. You decided to try and nudge him awake again.
"Hey, Valt," you call out. He sleepily lifts his head from his pillow and looks at you with half-lidded eyes. That only lasted for a few seconds until he closed them back again and fell asleep. You let out a frustrated grumble. You refuse to stay stuck here for the next two hours! "My stars. . ." you let out a sharp sigh and lightly tapped his cheeks. "Valt. . .! Valt!!!! C'mon!!"
As you slaved away over waking him up, you hear the door opening behind you. Turning around, you spot Shu walking inside. He holds a red cup of water in his gloveless hands and approached curiously.
"Tokonatsu and Nika told me you were having trouble," Shu says before looking down. "What's wrong?"
You turn your attention back to your partner. "This guy just won't wake up. I've tried everything, and it's already real late. We're gonna miss breakfast."
"Hm."
You two sit in silence for a second. . .until Shu lifts the red cup and splashed water directly on Valt's face. Valt reacted immediately and began thrashing around like a fish out of water. Your eyes widened and your mouth gaped open at his action. You glance over at Shu's deadpanned face as it told you everything you needed to know. This wasn't the first time he's encountered this.
"I'M DROWNING!!! [FIRST NAME]!! HELPPPP!!!"
Shu clicks his tongue in distaste. "Valt, get up. You're causing trouble for your partner," he scolds, watching Valt use his shirt to wipe off the water from his face. "Go get ready, we'll wait right here."
Valt whines softly but gets up anyway. "Alright, alright. . .so mean. . ." he utters that last part and trudges to the bathroom to brush his teeth.
Too distracted watching Valt head to the bathroom, you completely missed the way Shu's eyes flicker upward to your hair. He squints and sees something completely out of the ordinary.
