I didn't answer calls or texts that day or the next. And so, on the worst birthday I'd ever had, you came to my dorm and started knocking fiercely.

"Hello! Come on, open the door!" When I didn't get out of the bed, because I was so scared to see you, to watch your face as you got the news, you got the door open yourself.

I watched as the door came away from the frame and you walked in. I saw the look in your eyes as you took in my appearance. "What?"

You slammed the door shut and I flinched at the sound, and that only seemed to make you even more worried because your pace picked up as you came over to sit on my bed next to where I was laying. "What happened?"

I blinked back the tears that were threatening to spill over. "I lost the baby."

You froze. "What?"

"I killed the baby! I killed our child just like my mom killed hers!" Sobs started racking through my body as I made this connection.

I was just like her. My dad was right.
"No, you didn't kill the baby," you whispered.

"Well, then who did, huh?" I didn't mean to be yelling at you, I swear, but I couldn't get my voice to come down to a normal volume.

"No one killed the baby, okay? It just died."

"No, that's not true. Someone had to have killed it and it didn't even have a brain to know how to."

"Stop!" you yelled. "You can't blame yourself for this! Death is natural. It's a part of life. When an old person dies, is it their fault? Did they kill themselves?"

You waited for me to answer, so I shook my head slightly.

"Exactly. This is the same thing, the only difference is the little thing wasn't even born yet." You sat me up and put me on your lap, forcing me to look into your eyes. "You are not your mother, and you did not kill our child."

I sniffed and nodded, letting you wipe the tears from my eyes before I put my head onto your chest.

"Everything's going to be alright, okay? I'm sorry that this happened, but we can't change it. And if it happened, it was supposed to. We weren't supposed to be parents yet."

I nodded into your chest and you continued.

"We will have kids someday, I promise. It just won't be as soon as we thought it would be. We'll be more prepared, and we'll be married. We'll have one boy and a girl, and she'll be the youngest so that her big brother can protect her while I'm at work and they're at school. They'll be two years apart, and when our boy has a girlfriend, she'll make sure that the girl isn't using him for his good looks because they'll both be the cutest kids in the world."

I smiled at how you had everything planned out. "I love you."

I felt you kiss my hair before you answered. "I love you too."

Tell me how you felt about this chapter, and if you enjoyed it don't forget to vote! I'm sorry if you were rooting for a baby, but it was needed for the storyline. Do tell me how you felt in the comments, though!

Until next time! (Which probably won't be very long because I absolutely love writing this!
