I know, an update this early in the day?  Crazy, right? Well, anyways, shoutout to vishwajayawardhana for the votes and for giving your opinion on this book. (the same goes for  gracie_917 for everything she's done, I just thought that one was kind of a given.)

Onwards!

I was sitting on the couch in our new apartment, watching some TV show "Ah, hello, this is the Marine lab, do we have the right number?"

They went on to say my name, and I confirmed it was me.

"We would like to let you know that we have reviewed your work at the college you went to, in North Carolina, I believe, and a few people, including myself, do think that you'd make a great new team member."

I was internally squealing, but I was still trying to sound like I wasn't. "Is that so?"

"Absolutely! Ma'am, we would love it if you could start this Thursday, but we'd like you to come in for an hour or so on Wednesday so someone around here can show you the ropes. Can you do that?"

"Yes. I can definitely do that."

"Perfect. I'll see you soon, then."

The line went dead and I threw my phone onto the couch. "Oh my God!" I screamed, jumping onto the couch and hopping on it.

"What's got you so happy?"

I screamed and my foot fell off the couch from my sudden movement, making the rest of me fall off, too.

I heard you make your way towards me, and when you held your hand out to help me up, I saw concern in your eyes, yet there was a slight bit of amusement in them, too. "Are you okay?"

I nodded, smiling widely. "Why are you home so early?"

You rolled your eyes, shaking your head. "You're really bad at the checking time. I get off at 5:00. It's 5:08, babe."

I looked around, my eyes settling on the clock above the television.

"Oh."

You chuckled and sat down on the couch, patting the cushion next to you for me to sit on. When I was situated, I turned to look at you, and you were already looking at me. "So? What's up?"

"Well, I was watching iCarly, right, and then-"

"Wait," you interjected, "why were you watching iCarly?"

I could feel my eyebrows pulling together. "What do you mean?"

"You were watching iCarly... without me?"

I laughed, realizing that you weren't about to call me out for being such a child. "Yeah, sorry. They were playing my favorite episode, what was I supposed to do?"

"I don't know, record it and wait for me?" You crossed your arms, pretending to be upset, and I did my best not to curl over in laughter at the expression on your face.

"I'm sorry. But the temptation was too much. I had to. Anyways, I was watching iCarly when I got a phone call."

I watched your eyes widen. "From the lab?"

I nodded, not trying to keep my smile from growing. "I got the job."

You pulled me into your lap so you could hug me, tightly. "I knew you'd get it."

I scoffed playfully. "You always say that when I succeed."

"And I always mean it, too."
