So on the last chapter, I said that I'd probably post tomorrow, and since it's 12:36 a.m., technically I did follow through on that. Just a whole lot sooner than anticipated.
Onwards!
Two months after we had spent our first night at home, we had finally completely finished decorating the whole house. We had added the beds to the guest rooms, painted them, we had done everything that we needed to make this house our home.
"I love it here," you sighed, flopping onto the couch next to me.
"It's kind of perfect," I agreed.
"I wouldn't really go that far. It's really close to 'kind of' perfect, though."
I turned to look at you and cocked my eyebrow. "What would you change?"
You seemed to think about it for a minute. "I wouldn't change anything. I just wish my family was closer."
I smiled. "Yeah. Ooh! We should invite them over soon! I miss your brother."
You laughed. "Of course." We were silent for a minute before you turned to look at me, and you only spoke when I turned to you, as well. "Will you marry me?"
I felt my heart skip a beat. "What?"You grinned at me and stood up. "Come on, babe. You knew this was going to come up soon enough. I've been destined to do the grand gestures since high school, and I've been thinking about this for a while. A really long time. I remember once, you said that if I ever asked you this question, you'd say yes. So, now that we're older," you pulled a black box out of your pocket, got down on one knee, and then opened the box before looking directly into my wide eyes. "What's the pastability that you'd marry me?"
I wiped away the tear that had fallen from my eye before smiling and laughing. "One hundred percent. The pastability is one hundred percent."
I held my left hand out to you and you slid the beautiful, yet dainty, which you'd remembered was my favorite, ring on my fourth finger.
"I love you so much," you whispered, pulling me into your lap and leaning against the couch.
"I love you too."
We were quiet for a moment. "We're getting married," you said, and I nodded into your chest. And then louder, you said, "We're getting married!"
I picked my head up from where it was and looked at you. "I know, why are you announcing this?"
You sighed, shaking your hand and sliding me off of your lap before you stood up and helped me up next to you. "Mom! You guys can come out now!"
And so, from the hallway, which was located off to the side of the kitchen that we could clearly see from our open-plan house. "Congratulations, you two!" Your mom came sauntering forward, wrapping me in a tight hug before giving you one. Your dad just patted your shoulder and gave me a small squeeze, and then your brother completely ignored you and came straight to me, the demise of the teens hating siblings having already kicked in.
"Thank you, Ruby."
"Gosh," she squealed, "I'll finally have a daughter!" And I'd be lying if I said that those words didn't make me feel like I belonged.

Teen Fiction"You know those super cliche' stories where there's that bad boy who meets the good girl?" I nodded and you went on. "Well, I'm kind of like the bad boy- just dialed down by about forty percent." "Well, you don't seem so bad to me," I replied. Som...
