Leilani's POV

Why did he yell at me like that?
I didn't even do anything wrong did I?

Once the bus reached our school, Xavier was the first one to get off. I, was the last.

I got off and headed inside the school, I went straight to my locker. I don't know the combination you heart so I wrote it on my hand in permanent marker.

"Ok, twelve, twenty four, eight." I say as I the combination in. I pull the lever, and it didn't open. Ok let's try it again.

"Okay.....turn twice, twelve, turn once, twenty four, go back, eight" I say to myself as I try again. It still doesn't work.

I try a few more times but nothing happened.

"Why won't you open?!" I whisper yell at my locker. I was beginning to get very frustrated.

"Need help?" I hear someone ask. I turn around to see the same boy from yesterday. The one who was trying to flirt with me.

"Uh sure." I say to him. He walks up to my locker and turns it a few times.

"What's your combination?" He asks me.

"Twelve, twenty four, eight." I tell him simply.
He turns it to all the numbers, THE SAME WAY I DID! And it opened.

"How the?" I ask once he moves out of the way.

"Magic" He says before walking away. I laugh lightly and put my things in my locker and taking out the ones I need for today, before I'm late.

I walk into homeroom and I see Kobe sitting by the desk I was sitting at yesterday.

But I decided not to sit by him. Obviously he needs space. So I'll give it to him. We don't really do anything in homeroom. Everyone just talks to their friends. But I don't have any so I was just stuck for thirty minutes not talking to anyone.

It's not like I don't want to make friends. It's just, I'm very shy. I don't like going up to people. Especially after what happened yesterday. That girl didn't even acknowledge me. She just got up and walked away.

The bell rang telling us to go to 2nd period.
Mine was math. Let me tell you, I'm not good at math. You think that kids who were homeschooled were very smart. But not me. The only things I'm good at is ELA and Science. Math and Social studies are gonna kill me.

I walked in the class and I got there early. I sat in a empty desk at the back. Soon kids started coming in and then Kobe came in. He made eye contact with me but I looked away. I don't know, something just doesn't feel right with him.

The rest of the class went by fast and she wasn't really teaching anything since it's the second day of school. Then it was lunch time. They let us sit wherever we wanted which was cool I guess. I already had my lunch. Now I just needed a place to sit. I walked into the cafeteria. And there's a lot of 8th graders.

I walked in and looked around for familiar faces. Then I heard my name being called.

"Leilani!!" I hear it again. I looked around and saw the boy from earlier waving me down. How does he know my name? I slowly started to walk towards the table he was at.
