Destined

Telling

Kobe's POV

"You good ma?" I ask Leilani. Right now I'm helping her with her homework but she looks distant.

She nods slowly. She always staring at me but she ain't looked at me once since we got home. Even on the bus, she ain't say one word.

"Alright. Spill." I say to her as I put my pencil down and stare at her. She didn't do anything. She just continued to stare into space.

"Leilani?" I asked as I waved my hand in front of her face. She snapped back into reality and looked at me.

"What?" She asked confused.

"Something off with you. Wussup?" I ask her. She sighs and puts down her pencil.

"I don't want to talk about it. It'll make me sad all over again." Leilani says as she gets up and walks around her room.

"Alright" I say.

"I mean, did she really have to bring up my dad?!" Leilani asks frustratedly.

"Who?" I ask her.

"And then she called me conceited, and a b-bi-....you know what I'm trying to say." Leilani rambled. I just sat back and listened.

"She said that no one will ever love me, and that I'm a peace of s...h...I...t" Leilani spelled out the curse word.
Who is she talking about.

"She said that I'm too skinny for my own good. And she made fun of my clothes and everyone laughed. And she said that my pores are as big as bugs." Leilani says as she looks at herself in her vanity mirror. She sounds so sad. Everything she says it gets closer and closer to a whisper.

"She broke my glasses. And she called me ugly. And I didn't do anything to her" Leilani says as she sits in the chair in front of the mirror. She puts her head in her head and I hear her sniffle.

I get up and walk to her.

I sit in front of her chair. Then Alex comes in.
He sits by me in front of Leilani.
Then all the rest of her family comes in. Including her mom.

"I heard everything." Alex whispers to me. I nod and he grabs Leilani's hand.

"Sis, don't listen to them." Alex tells her. She looks up at him and he smiles at her.

"Yeah. I mean, all of that stuff isn't true. Like at all." I tell her.

"Yeah, you're super pretty baby." Ms. Alana tells her.

"Yeah, and I would kill for your body." Juli tell her.

"Yeah and you got more swag then me lil homie." One of the twins tell her.

"Your not conceited" I tell her.

"And your not a bad word" Xavier says. I smile at him and he smiles back.

"And we all love you." The other twin says.
"But I think you should beat her a**" he adds causing everyone to laugh and his mom to sleep his head.
